Choose Joy!

Image
And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) When are we to be full of joy? First Thessalonians 5:16 (NLT)  tells us to ALWAYS be joyful. Consider every day God gives you as a sacred day to celebrate. It is a gift from above, coming down from the Father of lights. James 1:2-3 (NASB1995) says: Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  So, do not be grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength. He will turn your mourning into joyful dancing. He will take away your clothes of mourning and clothe you with joy, that you might sing praises to Him and not be silent. O LORD my God, let us give thanks to You forever! (See Psalms 30:11-12 NLT)

This is the Day

And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) Let’s look at what preceded this proclamation of joy and celebration. First, all the people assembled with a unified purpose at the square, while Ezra read aloud to everyone who could understand, from early morning until noon. All the people listened closely to the Book of the Law. And they clearly explained the meaning of what was being read, helping the people understand each passage. (See Nehemiah 8:1-2, 8 NLT) Second, Nehemiah 8:6 says they also praised and worshiped the LORD. May we read and listen closely to the Word of God, with understanding. It reveals His faithfulness and the deep and unfailing love Yahweh continually lavishes upon us. Let us also praise and worship the God Most High, our Maker a...

Joy in His Presence

And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our LORD. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24 NASB) In His Presence we have strength and peace. Draw near to God. Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “ The LORD be magnified! ” (Psalm 40:16 NASB) You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. — Psalm 16:11 (NASB)

Be Joyful

Image
Rejoice always and delight in your faith; — 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (AMP) “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10b NLT) James 1:2 (NASB) says: Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. Why be joyful? It is your strength to fight the good fight of faith and fulfill the purposes and plans God has for you. Joy gives you strength to resist the devil and live a victorious life. We can be joyful because we have the love and Presence of our everlasting Father. We can rejoice because we know He will make a way. We can be joyful because with our great God, all things are possible. Nothing can stand against our awesome God. Amen. Let joy be your continual feast. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (TPT)

Got Joy?

Image
“ …Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! ” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) As we fight the good fight of faith, we need strength to overcome the obstacles that come our way. Staying filled with the joy of the LORD is our greatest strength. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy. If you are running low on joy, you can be made exceedingly glad with His presence. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful shout to the LORD. In His Presence our hearts are filled with joy. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11 NKJV)

Keep Looking Up!

Image
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up. — Psalm 5:1-3 (NKJV) May the LORD not only hear your voice every morning, but throughout the day as well. Let praises, and thanksgiving, continually flow from your mouth. When life circumstances try to get you feeling down and dejected, look up to the LORD and call to Him for help. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Be Glad & Rejoice!

Image
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory. — Psalm 64:10 (NKJV) The LORD is in our midst. How blessed are we to be called and chosen to come near to God and abide in Him. Be glad in the LORD and rejoice with all your heart! God has given us so many reasons to pour out our praises to Him. When we trust in Him, our hearts are not heavy and we can habitually offer up a sacrifice of praise to the LORD. In Him, we have all we need. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! (Nehemiah 8:10 NLT)

Choose Joy!

“Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” — Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT) Don’t let the enemy steal your joy. It is your strength to go the distance with God. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is supposed to come in the morning. The joy of knowing that God is with you and He has brought you to another day. This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24 AMP). Amen!

Fullness of Joy!

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. — Psalm 16:11 (NIV) “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10, NLT) In the Presence of our awesome God, we are filled with unspeakable joy. This joy runs deep within us and is not moved by outer circumstances. There is a no greater joy than spending time with Abba Father and basking in the sunlight of His love!
