Sincerely Seek Him

Image
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. — Psalms 63:1 (NASB1995) Sincerely seek the LORD our God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. Because His lovingkindness is better than life, may our lips praise Him. Let us bless the LORD as long as we live and lift up our hands in His name. He satisfies our souls. Offer praises to Him with joyful lips. He is our help, and in the shadow of His wings we sing for joy. May our souls cling to Yahweh. His right hand upholds us. (See Psalms 63:3-5 & 7-8) As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? — Psalms 42:1-2 (NASB1995)

“if My people...”

Image
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) If children of God (those who are called by His name), want Yahweh to heal and restore our land, we need to do our part. First, we are to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God (See 1 Peter 5:6). Second, we are to persistently pray to our Heavenly Father, instead of complaining, criticizing, or worrying. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (See James 5:16 NLT)  Third, the Word says to seek His face. This is a posture of the heart.  Psalms 27:8 (NASB1995) says: When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” The affections of our hearts are to be set on Yahweh, more than anything else this world has to offer. And the fourth thing we are instructed to do...

Earnestly Seek Him

Image
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. — Psalms 63:1 (NASB1995) Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. (Psalms 63:3-4 NASB1995) Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. (Psalms 54:4 NASB1995) “Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.” (Psalms 63:7-8 NLT) My soul overflows with satisfaction, as when I feast on foods rich in marrow and fat; with excitement in my heart and joy on my lips, I offer You praise. (Psalms 63:5 VOICE) Seek Yahweh earnestly (with sincere and intense conviction), not half-heartedly out of routine or religious traditions. Seek Him with every fiber of your being. (See Psalms 63:1 VOICE). Praise Him with every bone in your body. (See Psalm...

Feed on His Faithfulness

Image
Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. — Psalm 37:3 (NKJV) No need to fret, because our God is able and He is faithful. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:23 NLT) Feast on His faithfulness. Take it in and let it soak into every fiber of your being. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11 NASB) Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. (Matthew 6:8 NASB) If He has not given it to you, it may not be a good thing for you, at this time. I will sing of the LORD’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. (Psalm 89:1 NLT) Make His faithfulness known to all generations.

Our Greatest Need

Image
When You said, “Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I will seek [on the authority of Your word].” — Psalm 27:8 (AMP) The presence of the LORD is our greatest need. Seek His face, every moment of your day. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1-2) With His help we can advance against a troop; with our God we can scale a wall. (Psalm 18:29 NIV). With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26) O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; my soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1 AMP)

Trust in the LORD

Image
Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.  Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. — Psalm 37:3-5 (NKJV) May we totally trust and rely on the LORD, every minute of the day. Be confident in His faithfulness to do all that He has said. What He has said, shall come to pass. Cast all your cares on Him and delight yourself in Him. In His presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)

Time to Go!

Image
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ — Exodus 33:1 (NIV) It’s time to go up from where you are to the land of promise, where love and grace abound. We have to leave the land of broken dreams to dwell in the land of promise, with the light of hope. Depart the dead, dry place of despair and discouragement and live in the land of the LORD, victorious and full of joy. Let go of yesterday's disappointments and journey on to the promises God has for you today. “…Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NKJV). And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14 NKJV)

God is with You

Image
So He said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again…” — Genesis 46:3-4 (NKJV) God promised Israel that He would accompany him on his journey to Egypt. And He fulfilled that promise. Israel dwelt in the best of the land, and grew and multiplied exceedingly. (Genesis 47:11, 27). Our mighty God is a Promise Keeper. His words still ring true for His people today. We are not to fear treading where God has called us to go. When we go down, let us remember that God is with us and He will surely bring us up again. May we encourage ourselves in the LORD and find strength to endure life's challenges. Wherever and whatever God leads us to, He is faithful to bring us through it, out of it, or over it. Glory hallelujah!

Stick with It!

Image
But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. — Luke 8:15 (NKJV) The bearing of fruit comes with patience. Once we receive the seed, the Word of God, on the good soil of our hearts, we need to develop patience as we wait for the fruit to appear. Just as the farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains. (James 5:7 AMP) God’s Word will bear fruit in your life, whether it's the early or late rains, or both. His Word does not return to Him void. Keep watering the seed by speaking words of life over it and protect it from the enemy who wants nothing more than to steal the Word that has been sown in your heart. “But the seed in the good earth—these are the good-hearts who seize the Word and hold on no matter what, sticking with it until there’s a harvest.” (Luke 8:15 MSG) Stick with it! No matter...

Thirsty?

Image
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. — Psalm 63:1 (NKJV) When we hunger and thirst for God, we shall be satisfied. Seek Him early, before you get caught up in the spiral of daily events. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail (Isaiah 58:11 NIV). As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. (Psalm 42:1-2a NKJV)

His Everlasting Arms

Image
The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’ — Deuteronomy 33:27 (NLT) With His mighty hand and outstretched arm, the LORD will take you out of the land of your captivity, just like He did with the children of Israel. He will deliver you out of all your troubles. “Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], for the LORD God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. (Isaiah 26:4 AMP)

Be Still

Image
Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. — Psalm 37:7 (NLT) Be still, and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). The whole earth declares His wonderful works. He laid the foundation of the earth, and stretched out the heavens like a curtain. He set set a boundary for the waters and appointed the moon for seasons. Even the sun knows when to rise and when to go down. Surely, the LORD is able to take care of all that concerns you. Wait on the LORD, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; (Psalm 37:34a NKJV).

Trust God

Image
Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. —P salm 37:3 (NLT) If we think God is like every other man or woman we have dealt with, who disappointed us and deserted us, that hinders our ability to trust God. We cannot compare our perfect God with flawed humanity. How can we have difficulty trusting the One who has a proven track record? God is always there. He is faithful. Our heavenly Father will never abandon you. He is there to help you, every step of the way. Every word He has spoken comes to pass, because His Word does not return to Him void. If we doubt God's love for us, that will also block our ability to trust Him. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1 NIV) Open the door of your heart and receive His amazing, unfailing love, then set your mind to totally and completely trust in the LORD, no matter what circumstances look like.

Be Strong & Work!

Image
‘Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the LORD of hosts. — Haggai 2:4 (NKJV) Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). The rubber meets the road, in the life of a believer, when we take what we have learned and touch the lives of those around us, when we bring light into their darkness. God is with us and enables us to do all He has called us to. In Luke 8:21, Jesus said, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Be strong & do the work God has given you to do.

Early will I Seek You

Image
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. — Psalm 63:1 (NKJV) Before that first cup of coffee, seek God. Look to the LORD, before checking the latest events on Facebook. Instead of glancing at the morning news, get the Good News. Seek God FIRST and He will direct your steps. Seek the LORD while He may be found,
call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55:6). This world will leave you thirsting for more, but Jesus gives living water that truly satisfies. Whoever believes in Him shall never thirst (John 6:35).

Feed on His Faithfulness

Image
Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. — Psalm 37:3-4 (NKJV) I appreciate that this Scripture says to feed on “ His ” faithfulness because we know that the LORD is always faithful. Sometimes our faith may grow weak, but His, continuously stands strong for all eternity. As we daily enjoy the benefits of God’s everlasting faithfulness toward us, we learn to trust in and lean on Him, at all times. Delight yourself in the Presence of Almighty God and feed on His faithfulness forever.

Walk in His Presence

Image
He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. And so I walk in the LORD’s presence as I live here on earth! — Psalm 116:8-9 (NLT) Praise our God, beloved children of the Most High! Let the sound of His praise be heard all over the land. He redeemed our lives from the pit of destruction and kept our feet from slipping. If we fall He is there to catch us. The tears we have sown shall bring in a bountiful harvest of joy. Let us walk in the life-giving light of the LORD’s presence, every moment He gives us here on earth.

Take the Land!

Image
“...drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places. Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.” — Numbers 33:52-53 (NIV) The children of Israel were to completely drive out the inhabitants of the land and destroy everything that belonged to them. Anyone they let remain would be irritants in their eyes and thorns in their sides, and they would harass them in the land (Numbers 33:55 NKJV). God has given us a promise land to possess. If there are some harassing things going on, some thorns in our sides, then there remains some things that need to be destroyed, in order for us to occupy the land and settle in it. Is it pride? Offense? Self-pity? Rebellion? Whatever it is, drive it out and take possession of your promised land!

He Speaks Peace!

Image
I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. — Psalm 85:8-9 (NLT) The voice of the LORD speaks peace. God will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You (Isaiah 26:3, AMP). Our land is filled with His glory as we follow His ways of peace and grace, and allow His light to shine through us!

In a Dry & Weary Land

Image
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, i n a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.  — Psalm 63:1-4 (NAS) In a dry and weary land, earnestly seek the LORD. Hunger and thirst for Him and you shall be satisfied and fulfilled. Draw from His living spring of unlimited power and strength. Because His lovingkindness is better than life itself, let your lips praise Him as long as you live! In His generous love we really find life and life more abundantly.
