“When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.” — Proverbs 10:25 (NLT) When you go through deep waters, the LORD will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (See Isaiah 43:2 NLT) In the midst of the storms of life, we can be like Jesus, in Mark 4:37-39 (NLT). When a fierce storm came up, high waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water, but Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. He was calm and comfortable in the midst of the storm because His trust was in our heavenly Father.  The LORD displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. (See Nahum 1:3 NLT) He is a tower of refuge to the poor, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. He is a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. (Isaiah 28:16 NLT) When we build our lives on the strong foundation of Jesus Christ, we will not be moved by the storms of life. Build on the foundation that will last forever. When the rain descends, the floods come, and the winds blow and beat on that house, it will not fall, for it was founded on the rock. (Matthew 7:25)
