When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. — Luke 3:21 (NKJV) In Luke 18:1 (AMP), Jesus tells the disciples a parable to make the point that at all times they ought to pray and not give up and lose heart. In Matthew 26:41, Jesus instructed the disciples to keep watching and praying that they may not enter into temptation. Many times Scripture tells us that Jesus prayed to the Father. (See Matthew 26:36, Luke 9:18, 9:28) If the Son of God took time to pray, we need to prioritize prayer even more. Psalm 18:7 (MSG) says: “my cry brings me right into his presence— a private audience!” And in Luke 3:21 we see the beautiful response of Jesus prayer was that heaven was opened.  Let us pray consistently and never give up. It is an open invitation to all. As believers, the church is to echo the call of the Holy Spirit and invite others to “Come.” Open your heart and receive the love, forgiveness and grace we have in our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Come and walk In the light of the LORD. “ Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you… ” — Isaiah 55:3 (NKJV)
