Better Than Life

Image
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. — Psalms 63:1, 3 (NASB1995) Do not get discouraged and lose heart, though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. (See 2 Corinthians 4:16) Our lives on this earth are temporary but the lovingkindness of Yahweh endures forever! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; (Psalms 103:2-4 NASB1995) Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. — Psalms 143:8 (NKJV)

The Only Way

Image
Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. — John 14:6 (AMP) So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 NASB) If we want to know real truth, we must follow Yeshua, and continue in His Word. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. Yeshua came that we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. (See John 10:10 AMP)

Live by Faith

Image
“Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.” — Habakkuk 2:4 (NLT) Instead of being puffed up with pride, let us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and put our confidence in Him. ...as for me, I trust in You, O Yahweh, I say, “You are my God.” (Psalms 31:14 LSB)“Though the fig tree should not blossom and  there be no produce on the vines, though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields yield no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, yet I will exult in Yahweh; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.” (Habakkuk 3:17-18 LSB) No matter how dismal circumstances may appear, always live by faith in the One true and living God. He is our Provider and He is good and generous. He fulfills every word He has spoken.  Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evid...

Be of Good Cheer

Image
“ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. ” — John 16:33 (NKJV) In the trials and tribulations of this world, followers of Christ can continue to be of good cheer. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37 AMP) Psalm 112:4 (NKJV) says: Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:12 NASB1995) Jesus said: “ I have told you these things so that you will be whole and at peace. In this world, you will be plagued with times of trouble, but you need not fear; I have triumphed over this corrupt world order. ” (John 16:33 VOICE). You are of God, little children, and have ov...

Something Brand-New

Image
It is because of the LORD’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness. — Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMP) We tend to look for God to do things the same way He did them before, but the LORD is always doing something new. Don’t compare how He works in your life to how He is working in someone else’s, or how He worked in your life in the past to how He is working now. Reach forward to what lies ahead, and don’t turn back. Press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (See Philippians 3:13-14 NLT) This is what God says, “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” — Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

The Alpha & The Omega

Image
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One].” — Revelation 22:13 (AMP) Jesus is the beginning and the end. His coming to earth signified the beginning of Good News being preached to the poor, the release of captives and the recovery of sight to the blind. (See Luke 4:18)  In John 19:30 Jesus said, “ It is finished! ” He had done it all and gained the victory for us. His resurrection and departure from this earth signified the conclusion of the battle and declared victory over sin and death, for all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.  He is the Beginning of a new and more abundant life. He is the beginning of a Kingdom that is about righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (See Romans 14:17) Believe in God, believe also in Jesus. (John 14:1) Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12 ESV) “For the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of ho...

Rely on God’s Help

Image
“ But you asked God for help and he gave you the victory. God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God’s help… ” — 2 Chronicles 16:8-9a (MSG) Be totally committed to the LORD at all times. For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (2 Chronicles 16:9a NASB) Rely on the LORD, to show you the way and give you the strength to overcome every challenge and persevere through the storms. It is better to put your faith in the Eternal for your security than to trust in people. (Psalm 118:8 VOICE) O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You! — Psalm 84:12 (NASB)

Let us Kneel

Image
And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. — Matthew 17:14-15 (NKJV) This father humbly came to Jesus on behalf of his son and the child was cured that very hour (Matthew 17:18). Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6) May we humble ourselves and kneel before the LORD. Kneeling is a reminder of our position before Him. He is above all. He is our Maker, the One who created us. He is worthy of our worship. Kneeling is a sign of submission, reverence, respect and honor. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6).

Always the Same

Image
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. — Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) In a world that is constantly changing, we have One that remains the same. Jesus is the good Shepherd (John 10:11); He is always good. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). He is the answer to every challenge you face. Trust Him to show you the way. Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for us, and He still loves us today and will love us forever. Jesus overcame the world (John 16:33) and we have the greater One dwelling inside of us. So we can be of good cheer because He has given us the victory!

Stick Around

Image
But me, I’m not giving up. I’m sticking around to see what God will do. I’m waiting for God to make things right. I’m counting on God to listen to me. — Micah 7:7 (MSG) No matter what seems to be going wrong in your life, trust God to make it all right. When the going gets tough, don’t give up and run away from Him. God is deeply concerned about you and He causes all things to work together for good for those who love God, and are called according to His plan and purpose for them (Romans 8:28). Look expectantly for the LORD and with confidence in Him keep watch; wait [with confident expectation] for the God of our salvation. God will hear you. (Micah 7:7 AMP)

Fill the Waterpot

Image
Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. — John 2:7 (NKJV) Jesus told the servants at this wedding to fill the waterpots with water because they ran out of wine. The servants didn’t know what was happening, they simply followed the instructions of Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” (John 2:8). The Master of feast declared that it was not just wine, but good wine! As we faithfully fill our waterpots, cups, jars or containers, with the living water, Jesus will provide whatever we lack: peace, joy, love, strength, wisdom, etc. Let us fill our hearts and minds with the Living Word and our mouths with His praises and thanksgiving. He will fill in the gaps and our lives will be better and more fulfilled than ever. We may not always understand what is happening, but we know that He is working for our good.

Draw from His Strength

Image
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You... — Psalm 84:5 (NKJV) We get tripped up when we think we can accomplish anything, purely in our own strength. Let the LORD be the strength of your life (Psalm 27:1). Draw from the well of His unlimited power and strength. Blessed is the person who strength is in the LORD. They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power] (Psalm 84:7 AMP). Rely on the LORD to turn those seemingly impossible situations around. “His strength is made perfect in our weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV). Our heavenly Father, did not expect us to do this on our own, He made His strength available to us. Amen!

Press On!

I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.  — Philippians 3:13 -14 (AMP) Sometimes it is a strain to move forward, but when we lay aside the disappointments and regrets of the past and throw off everything that hinders us, we are able to run with perseverance the race marked out for us. So let us press on, with our eyes on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus! Let there be no turning back or getting side-tracked.

The Secret to Success

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) As we meditate on the Word, our mind is renovated. We clear out the old worldly thinking and align our minds to think the way God thinks. Then we are empowered to faithfully follow our heavenly Father's instruction. Only then will we experience the fullness of God's Presence, His power at work in our lives and the fulfillment of His wonderful promises. Only then will we make our way prosperous and have good success!

A Greater Power

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said. 2 Chronicles 32:7-9 (NIV) King Hezekiah encouraged his troops with these words. We too can be strong and courageous because we have a greater power with us, the LORD our God. The battle is not yours, but God’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Do what God calls you to do and rely on Him for the rest. Our heavenly Father helps us and causes us to be victorious. Be confident of this.

Trust in the One

Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17 (NLT) Don't put your confidence in the temporary, material things of this world, which are here today and gone tomorrow. Trust in the living God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. He is always there for you. Almighty God is all-sufficient and all-bountiful. He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. He knows our physical, spiritual and financial needs and He takes care of us. We may not always agree with His ways, but our heavenly Father knows what is best for us. Amen.

You're On His Mind

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18 (NLT) God has been with you since the day He formed you in your mother's womb. You have not escaped His attention. He is there to catch your tears and put them into His bottle (Psalm 56:8 NKJ). He is the lifter of your head when you are down. When you go through troubled waters and the fiery flames, He is with you. God's thoughts toward us are precious. They are of peace and not of evil (Jeremiah 29:11). Thank God for keeping you in His thoughts. Love, Jackie

Be Still

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10 (NIV) Let us put our mind and bodies at ease and adore God, the King of all the earth, who is clothed in majesty and power. All of creation speaks of His glory. Praise His holy name. He is exalted above all. May you be still long enough to enjoy His Presence today. Love, Jackie
