God is Love & Light

...anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. — 1 John 4:8 (NLT) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7 NKJV) And if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him. (See 1 Corinthians 8:3 NKJV) …whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. (1 John 2:5 NKJV) For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3 NKJV) This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. — 1 John 1:5 (NLT) …God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. For The Light

“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.” — Exodus 27:20 (NKJV) Olive oil is made by a strenuous and tedious process of pressing olives. The Israelites needed olive oil for the morning and evening offerings, so it was an ongoing requirement that took diligence and dedication. In a similar fashion, as difficulties and troubles press us, let us commit to continually make the right choices and allow the impurities to be squeezed out of us. When we choose life and godliness, we allow God’s light to shine brighter and brighter through us. Be a vessel of His light. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; (2 Corinthians 4:8 NIV)

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light — Ephesians 5:8 (NIV) We are containers of God’s light. Let us be the light and shine brightly on those living overcome by darkness. Just as we opened our hearts to receive from God, let us also keep our hearts open to transmit His light to those He brings our way. When extend to others, the love, kindness, grace and mercy of God, we are allowing His light to invade the darkness of this world.
