Trust in the Light

Image
Jesus replied, “My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.” After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them. — John 12:35-36 (NLT) Put your trust in King Yeshua, not in man, the government, nor in material riches. In John‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬ ‭(TPT‬), Jesus said, “I am light to the world, and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness.” May we live and walk in the Light. “To all the rich of this world, I command you not to be wrapped in thoughts of pride over your prosperity, or rely on your wealth, for your riches are unreliable and nothing compared to the living God. Trust instead in the one who lavishes upon us all good things, fulfilling our every need.” (1 Timothy 6:17 TPT)

The Light of Life

Image
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” — John 8:12 (NLT) As followers of Christ, we have the light that leads to life. …for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8-10 NASB1995) “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NLT)

The Light of the World

Image
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” — John 8:12 (NASB1995) In John 9:5, Yeshua said: “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” As Followers of Christ, we too are the light of the world. A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. (See Matthew 5:14)  ...you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), (Ephesians 5:8-9). May we let His light shine brightly through us and draw others closer to Him. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. (John 3:19 NASB1995) But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:8 NLT)

Be a Light-Bearer

Image
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “ I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. ” — John 8:12 (NASB) In John 12:46, Jesus said: “ I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. ” Everyone who believes in Jesus is to depart from darkness and be light. You are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14 NASB). We are to let His Light shine through us and pierce the darkness. May we continually bear His Light in dark circumstances, the Light of life, the Light of hope and peace, and the Light of God’s grace and unfailing love. “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there...

Be a Light-Bearer

Image
“ You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. ” — Matthew 5:14-16 (NASB) ...because, although you were once the personification of darkness, you are now light in the Lord. So act like children of the light. For the fruit of the light is all that is good, right, and true. Make it your aim to learn what pleases our Lord. (Ephesians 5:8-10 VOICE) Be that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, and light up the darkness that is in the world. Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” — John 8:12 (NASB)

Follow the Light

Image
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” — John 8:12 (NASB) For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8) When we follow Christ and live in the light, we no longer have to stumble around in darkness, doubt and confusion. We have the Word of God, illuminating truth and wisdom. As children of light,  we no longer have to be tossed to and fro by the waves of adversity,  but we are stable and confident to stand strong. As we continually follow Jesus, we have the Light of life within us, to lead and guide us along, through each season of life. The life of the godly is full of light and joy, but the light of the wicked will be snuffed out. — Proverbs 13:9 NLT)

Light Up the World

Image
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. — John 1:1-4 (NLT) Jesus brings light to everyone. He receives everyone who comes to Him. If you open the door of your heart to Him, He enters. He comforts the brokenhearted (Isaiah 61:1). He brings Good News to the poor (Luke 4:18). He sets the captives free. In John 8:12, Jesus said, “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. ” Let us live in His light. As we abide in His light, sadness is turned to joy and we experience everlasting peace. In Matthew 5:14, Jesus tells believers: “ You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden .” Don’t try to hide the light of the Lord within you. Let it shine! ...

Our Light has Come!

Image
With the loving mercy of our God, a new day from heaven will dawn upon us. It will shine on those who live in darkness, in the shadow of death. It will guide us into the path of peace.” — Luke 1:78-79 (NCV) Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous (Psalm 112:4 NKJV). Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12). His marvelous light shines on those who live in darkness, and offers hope, peace, and freedom. As the Prince of Peace, He guides our feet into the way of everlasting peace and abundant life. Let us arise, and shine! For our light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Live in the Light

Image
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” — John 8:12 (NASB) You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:5-8 MSG) If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7) Come. Let us walk, live and play in the light of the LORD!

Who is He?

Image
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.” — Luke 9:20 (NKJV) Who do you say Jesus is? If you are lost, He is the good shepherd, who gives His life for the sheep. (John 10:11) He will lead you, guide you and protect you from the enemy. If you are sick, He is the great physician. If you hunger for more, He is the bread of life. (John 6:35) Jesus says: “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. ” (John 6:47) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. ” (John 8:12) Jesus is everything we need Him to be and He draws all peoples to Himself (John 12:32) No matter who you are or what you have done, Jesus calls us to come. May we know Him as our Lord and Savior.

A Great Light

Image
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. — Isaiah 9:2 (NLT) On your darkest day, cast your eyes on our Savior and Champion, Christ Jesus. No need to walk around in darkness and gloom, when we have Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Like a lighthouse, He will guide you along in the storm and lead you to a safe harbor. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John 8:12 NLT) “ I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes and trusts in Me [as Savior—all those who anchor their hope in Me and rely on the truth of My message] will not continue to live in darkness. ”  (John 12:46 AMP)  Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1 NKJV)

A Light for the Nations

Image
“I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!” — Luke 2:30-32 (NLT) The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined (Isaiah 9:2). Jesus is the light of the world. Those who follow Him shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. (John 8:12). In His light, there is salvation and revelation. In the light of the Lord, there is everlasting peace, inexpressible joy, and unconditional love. As we live in the light, His strength and power are made available to us and we can walk in victory over the dark forces. Arise, and shine! For your light has come and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.  (Isaiah 60:1) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

The Way

Image
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. — John 14:6 (NKJV) Yesterday morning I drove to work through the fog, and there were times when I could only see the road right in front of me. But I focused on the spot where the headlights hit the road, and I made it to my destination safely. As we journey through life, we will not always see the way ahead of us, but we can keep our eyes on Jesus. He is The Way, and the light of the world. When we continually follow Him, He will get us to our desired destination successfully. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Light of the World

Image
Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” — John 8:10-11 (NLT) It is not the heart of Jesus to condemn us. Satan condemns you and accuses you before our God day and night, but Jesus is our advocate. (Revelation 12:10; 1 John 2:1). Jesus calls us out of the darkness, to live on higher ground. He wants us to live in the light. Understand this: just like the woman caught in adultery, we are very valuable treasures to Jesus. We matter to Him. Jesus cherished us so much, He gave His very life for us. In John 8:12 (AMP) Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” Why choose to dwell in darkness that leads to death when you can walk in the light, that leads to an abundant life of peace and joy, in the Kingdom of God?

In the Light

Image
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light… — Ephesians 5:8 (NKJV) Praise God! He called us out of darkness into His marvelous light! (1 Peter 2:9b). No matter how dismal circumstances appear, no matter how much darkness exists in the world, His Light still shines brightly. Jesus is the light of the world. Whoever follows Him shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. (John 8:12). As we let the beauty and grace of His light radiate through us, His light invades the darkness. Live in the Light of the Lord!

No Secret

Image
Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. — Mark 7:24 (NIV) Jesus is Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us (Matthew 1:23). His presence is not meant to be a secret. His presence destroys yokes and breaks bondages. He sets captives free. Tell others what He has done for you. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11). Because we have His light in us, we are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14 NLT). Come out of hiding and declare the wonderful works He has done in your life.

A Light has Dawned

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.  — Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)  Although the land is full of darkness, the light of Lord shines ever brighter. In John 8:12 (NIV), Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” As followers of Christ, let us live in His light and let it shine through us. May we illuminate this world, with the light and love of Jesus. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you” (Isaiah 60:1 NIV).

Look unto Jesus

Image
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. — Hebrews 12:1-2a (NLT) If we are going to run our race with endurance, it is absolutely necessary to keep our eyes on Jesus. Look away from the sideshows that serve as distractions and stay focused on Him. As we look unto Jesus, our thoughts are elevated above the adverse life events, that try to pull us down and beat us up. Don't be consumed by darkness. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the light of the world (John 8:12). He is the source of our hope and our healer, the One who makes us whole. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:16).

Shine like Stars!

Image
When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was . — Matthew 2:9 (NKJV) The wise men followed the star and it led them to Jesus. May we keep our eyes on Jesus, the Light of the world (John 8:12) and follow His ways. As believers, we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14a). Let us do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that we may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then we will shine among them like stars in the sky (Philippians 2:14-15, NIV)!

Who Do You Say He Is?

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” — Matthew 16:13-15 (NKJV) Who do you say Jesus is? Maybe you know Him as, the bread of life, the one who comes down from heaven and gives abundant life to the world (John 6:33). Do you know Him as the light of the world? He will turn your darkness to light. Can you say, He is the ONLY way, the truth and the life? Yes, He is also the Prince of Peace and He has given us His peace. Let us be like Simon Peter and declare, “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God!”
