Warned by GOD

Image
“And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.” — Matthew 2:12 (NASB1995) The best kind of warning is a God warning because He knows all. Yahweh speaks to His people in many ways. Let us be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and exercise discernment. The Spirit of truth will guide you into all the truth. (See John 16:13) If you’re having problems hearing the voice of Yahweh, draw closer to Him and you will be more likely to hear His still small voice. He is always speaking to us through the Holy Scriptures. If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5 AMP) May we heed (pay attention to) the voice of Yahweh and the instruction of His Word. Be wise. Do not ignore or neglect it.

The Dreamer

Image
One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever. — Genesis 37:5 (NLT) In Genesis 37:14, Joseph's father sent him to see about the welfare of his brothers and the flock. When Joseph’s brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. “Here comes the dreamer!” they said. “Come on, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns. We can tell our father, ‘A wild animal has eaten him.’ Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!” (Genesis 37:18-20 NLT) Our enemy would like to crush our dreams and destroy our hope. Hold on to the dreams God has placed in your heart, no matter what happens.  Joseph’s brother’s ended up selling him to Midianite traders for twenty pieces of silver. (See Genesis 37:28) In Genesis 50:20, Joseph tells his brothers: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many pe...

Rely on Him

Image
Place your trust in the Eternal; rely on Him completely; never depend upon your own ideas and inventions. — Proverbs 3:5 (VOICE) Listen carefully, those of you who make your plans and say, “We are traveling to this city in the next few days. We’ll stay there for one year while our business explodes and revenue is up.” The reality is you have no idea where your life will take you tomorrow. You are like a mist that appears one moment and then vanishes another. It would be best to say, “If it is the Lord’s will and we live long enough, we hope to do this project or pursue that dream.” (James 4:13-15 VOICE) Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. — Proverbs 3:6 (NLT)

The Power of a Dream

Image
Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” — Genesis 37:5, 9 (NKJV) I believe it was the power of Joseph’s dreams that helped him persevere through his problems. First, his brothers threw him in a pit, then sold him into slavery. But the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. (Genesis 39:2-3) Eventually Joseph found himself in prison, for doing the right thing. No matter what challenges he faced, I’m sure he lay awake at night remembering his dreams. Finally, he was placed in the palace and God put him in position to save His people from famine. In Genesis 41:41, Pharaoh set Joseph over al...

Unshakable & Assured

Image
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward… — 1 Samuel 16:13 (NKJV) After David was anointed to be the next king over Isarael, he ended up being on the run for his life. In 1 Samuel 19:2, Jonathan told David, “My father Saul seeks to kill you.”  David had to live as a fugitive and hide out in caves before he reigned as king. After God has given you a word or revelation of your purpose or destiny, know that you will encounter challenges and experience difficulties. But, no wicked scheme of the enemy can thwart the wonderful plans of our great God. The accomplishment of the dream comes with much effort. Jesus said, “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” (John 16:33 MSG). He is greater. Amen!

Always Have a Dream!

Image
“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” — Joel 2:28 (NKJV) Without a vision the people perish. In spite of the difficulties that arise, let us actively pursue the dreams God has placed inside of us. John 2:24-25 says, Jesus knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man. Jesus knew everything about us and still gave His life to save us. Stop listening to the lies of the enemy and beating yourself up. God created you unique and extraordinary. You are of great value to Him. God calls us to come to a higher place in Him and His Spirit dwells in us to help us. The LORD has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). Keep your dreams alive!

It’s Never too Late to Dream

Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!” — Genesis 37:20 (NKJV) Joseph was a dreamer. It was because of his dreams that his brothers sold him into slavery. But his dreams came true. After Joseph favorably served in the palace and in the prison, he eventually became governor over the land of abundance, in the midst of a famine. No matter how circumstances appear right now, don’t give up on your dreams! Even the old men shall dream dreams (Joel 2:28). As long as there is breath in your nostrils it's not too  late. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. — Psalm 37:4 (AMP) God bless you as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., today.
