Look Up

Image
So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. — Colossians 3:1-2 (MSG) I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. (Psalm 121:1-3 NKJV) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. (2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT) Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. — Colossians 3:2 (NKJV)

See things from God’s perspective. How the world sees you is of no consequence, if you don’t buy into it. When you see things from His perspective, your thoughts about yourself line up with His Word. You are a child of the Most High God. You are loved, chosen, and accepted. You are more than a conqueror! And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. — Psalm 9:10 (NASB)

Keep a Proper Perspective

So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. — Colossians 3:1-2 (MSG) After the crucifixion and burial of Christ, the Believers were discouraged, defeated, and hopeless. They could not see past Friday, to the glory of Sunday and the empty tomb. If we are more plugged in to the negative news of this world, instead of the Good News we have in Jesus, the Living Word, our outlook becomes dark and gloomy. If we rely on the Word of God instead of a doctor’s report, we will maintain our peace and a proper perspective. To keep a proper perspective, look up to Almighty God and look in His Word which stands forever. What looks like failure, is just a temporary spot on the way to your promise land. It’s ...

Elevate Your Thoughts

Image
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. — Colossians 3:2 (NKJV) Let us elevate our thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. (Colossians 3:2 MSG) Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].  — Phili...

The Right Perspective

So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. — Colossians 3:1-2 (MSG) Keeping the right perspective in life, is so important. Instead of looking around at the circumstances, let us look up and stay focused on our great God, and all that He is doing in our lives. As we look to Him, with eyes of faith, He comes to our aid. As long as our eyes are fixed on the immediate earthly realities, we stay trapped by the limitations of our humanity. When we look to our heavenly Father, we open ourselves up to His faith filled world of unlimited possibilities. With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) No matter what your current situation may be, never lose sight of the fact that God has a plan a...

So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! — Romans 8:12-14 (MSG) This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” (Romans 8:15 (MSG) Since God woke you up this morning, He has places for you to go and things for you to do. Let’s do whatever He has called us to do, His way. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9) Know that God has a plan for your life, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). Every day of your life was recorded in His book. Every moment laid out before a single day had passed (Psalm 139:16). Don’t get stuck in what happened in the ...
