Our Refuge & Stronghold

The LORD also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble; And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not abandoned those who seek You. — Psalms 9:9-10 (AMP) Yahweh is our refuge, a shelter Who keeps us safe from danger. He is our stronghold, a place that has been fortified so as to protect those within it against attack. When you keep your mind stayed on God, He will keep you in perfect peace, because you trust in Him. (See Isaiah 26:3 NKJV) He who abides in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to Yahweh, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the destructive pestilence. (Psalms 91:1-3 LSB) In peace [and with a tran...

Long for the LORD

Image
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? — Psalm 42:1-2 (NASB) For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; my fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. (Psalm 62:5-6 AMP)  God’s glory is all around me! His wrap-around presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength. Join me, everyone! Trust only in God every moment! Tell him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to him. Believe me when I tell you—he will help you! Pause in his presence (Psalm 62:7-8 TPT) So then, my soul, why would you be depressed? Why would you sink into despair? Just keep hoping and waiting on God, your Savior. Trust Our Everlasting God

“ Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], for the LORD God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. ” — Isaiah 26:4 (AMP) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. (Psalm 90:2 NKJV) The things of this world will come and go, they are temporary, but we can trust our great God because He is here for all time. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 1:8) His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him. Bless the Most High and praise and honor Him who lives forever. Your kingdom will go on and on, and you will rule forever. The LORD will keep all his promises; he is loyal to all he has made . — Psalm 145:13 (NCV)

Depend on God

Image
Depend on God and keep at it because in the LORD God you have a sure thing. — Isaiah 26:4 (MSG) The troubles the Apostle Paul experienced taught him to depend on God. In 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NLT) he says,   We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. Let us depend on God no matter how our current circumstances appear. “ Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], for the LORD God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. ”  —Isaiah 26:4 (AMP)

Our Mighty Fortress

Take refuge in Him, for the battle belongs to the LORD. He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light, and your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun]. (Psalm 37:6 AMP) “May the LORD repay you for your kindness, and may your reward be full from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take...

Release & Rely

(Psalm 68:19 NIV) Release your burdens to the Lord our God and rely on Him. Rely on His unfailing love, to be your support. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” (Psalm 91:2 AMP) Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. ”  (Matthew 11:28 NLT) His yoke is easy and His burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30). When we come to Him, we are refreshed and strengthened.

Wait Quietly

Image
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. — Psalm 62:5-6 (NLT) Let us wait quietly for God to work all things together for good in our lives. Philippians 2:14 (NKJV) instructs us to do all things without complaining and disputing. The Amplified Bible says: do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God].  Wait with expectation and confidence. Our God is faithful. He will fulfill every promise He has made. His word does not return to Him empty, without accomplishing what He desires, and without succeeding in the matter for which He sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 NASB) So wait quietly, your hope in God will not be disappointed.

Higher than I

Image
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. — Psalm 61:2 (NKJV) When your heart is overwhelmed, cry out to the LORD for help. (Psalm 18:2) He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. (Psalm 62:6) Always remember that God is your rock, and the Most High God your Redeemer. (Psalm 78:35) He will make your feet like the feet of deer, and set you on your high places (Psalm 18:33). He will place you above any earthly circumstances. Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I!

Hope in God

Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies. — Psalm 60:11-12 (NKJV) For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged  (Psalm 62:5-6 AMP). God is our living hope. O my people, trust in him at all times. (Psalm 62:8a NLT). We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. (Philippians 4:13) From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Psalm 61:2 NKJV)

In God We Trust

Image
And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not abandoned those who seek You.  — Psalm 9:10 (AMP) As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him (Psalm 18:30 NKJV). The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold (Psalm 18:2 NKJV). Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8 NKJV) Stamped on our currency is the statement: “ In God We Trust ”. As we spend our money, let it be a reminder that when you invest your trust in the LORD, your receive great dividends. His bank account is never overdrawn.  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God. (Psalm 20:7 AMP)

Our Light & Strength

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? — Psalm 27:1 (NKJV) God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Delight yourself in the love of God. His perfect love casts out fear. The LORD is the refuge and fortress of our lives. Whom shall we dread? “He came to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79) Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God. (Psalm 20:7 AMP)

Walk on Water

Image
“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. — Matthew 14:29-30 (NLT) God can work miracles in our lives as long as we keep our eyes on Him. When we look at the external circumstances and conditions around us, fear grips us and we begin to sink. As you get out of your boat and walk toward Jesus, remember to keep your eyes on Him. He is our fortress, our life preserver, and the calm in the middle of any storm.
