“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” — Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT) “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” (Hebrews 10:23 NLT) Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. (Hebrews 10:36 NLT)

(Hebrews 10:23) Hebrews 10:37-38 (NLT)  says: “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.” (Hebrews 10:39 NLT) We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, — Colossians 1:11 (NLT)

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. — James 1:12 (NASB) And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.”  — Matthew 10:21-22 (NLT) As followers of Christ, we can expect the world to hate us. And they do not compare to the future glory we have in Christ. Jesus endured the cross by looking at the joy that was set before Him. (See Hebrews 12:2) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. How can we celebrate in seasons of suffering? Because 1) It's momentary. It will pass, seasons come and seasons go. 2) God is with us, and 3) He has given us the ultimate victory. May we strive to press on to maturity and to finish the race before us with joy, like the Apostle Paul. And don’t grumble, whine or complain about current circumstances, because we are citizens of a Kingdom that is unshakable. Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. — James 1:2-...

If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short. (Proverbs 24:14 NLT) To walk in wisdom, is to honor the LORD and put Him first in all that we do. It is wise to let His Word be the guiding principle of our lives. As we walk in wisdom, our hope will not be cut off because the LORD has plans for us that are good and not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,  doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, so will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them. — Isaiah 55:10-11 (MSG) In 1 Kings 8:24, King Solomon says to the LORD, “You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.” God does not show favoritism (Acts 10:34). He does not lie and He does not change. He fulfills every Word He has spoken. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. — Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) Our heavenly Father is faithful. He watches over His Word and performs it. It never returns to Him void. When He says He will be with us always, not a moment goes by that He is not there. When He says nothing can separate us from His love, we never have to feel unloved or forgotten. Because His Word says, He has already given us the victory, we can rejoice. So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised. — Hebrews 10:35-36 (AMP) When it comes to God’s promises, we want to enjoy them to the fullest extent possible. In order to get there, the writer of Hebrews says we need to develop patient endurance, perseverance, a stick-to-it-ness. Patient endurance —not just waiting, but continually doing the will of God in all situations, without caving in or giving up. Thank God that His grace gives us the power and strength to successfully do that. Amen!
