Every Good Thing

Image
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge. I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” — Psalms 16:1-2 (NLT) Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. (James 1:17 NASB1995) The LORD alone is our inheritance, our cup of blessing. He guards all that is ours. (See Psalms 16:5 NLT) “I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.” (Psalms 16:7-8 NLT) Give thanks to Yahweh! Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise His holy name, with your whole heart. May we never forget the good things He does for us. He will show you the way of life, granting you the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever. (See Psalms 103:1-2 & 16:11)

Our Maker & Master

Image
I said to YAHWEH, “You are my Maker and my Master. Any good thing you find in me has come from you.” — Psalms 16:2 (TPT) The rich and the poor have this in common, the LORD is the maker of them all. (Proverbs 22:2 NKJV)  “ And the only good I know in this world is found in Him alone.” (See Psalms 16:2 VOICE) “Shame on the one who argues with his Creator, like one clay pot among other pots arguing with the potter. Should the clay say to the potter, ‘What in the world are you doing with me? Your hands are clumsy’?” (Isaiah 45:9 TPT) But now, O LORD, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 NASB1995) Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before Yahweh our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts… (Psalms 95:6-8 LSB)

Our Sun & Shield

Image
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You! — Psalms 84:11-12 (NASB1995) The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light… (See Isaiah 9:2 NKJV) God is the fountain of life, the light by which we see. (Psalms 36:9 NLT) The light of the LORD illuminates our darkness. His light reveals truth and shows us the way we are to go. “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1 NASB1995) The LORD is our help and a protective shield around us. (See Psalms 3:3, 33:20) He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (See Proverbs 30:5 NKJV)  “ ...to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. ” — Malachi 4:2 (NKJV)

Press On to Know Him

Image
Hear the word of the LORD, O people of Israel! The LORD has brought charges against you, saying: “There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land.” — Hosea 4:1 (NLT) In Hosea 4:2-3, the LORD goes on to say: “…you kill and steal and commit adultery. There is violence everywhere— one murder after another. That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away.” In Hosea 4:6, He says: “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me…” In Hosea 7:16, He says: “They look everywhere except to the Most High.” Sounds like current events in our world today. Oh, that we might turn to Yahweh and strive to know Him! “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your heart as Israel did when they rebelled.” (See Hebrews 3:15)  “…let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] LORD [to honor, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn,...

This is The Day

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB1995) Psalm 139:16 NLT says: Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Since our heavenly Father took the time to write this day down in His book, know that there is meaning and purpose to this day. It is a day, that He has made. Let us rejoice in the fact that no matter what happens or doesn’t happen today, the God Most High, is with us and He will guide us along the best pathway for our lives. (See Psalm 32:8 NLT) Amen. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.” — Psalm 32:8 (AMP)

Return

Image
Do the riches of his extraordinary kindness make you take him for granted and despise him? Haven’t you experienced how kind and understanding he has been to you? Don’t mistake his tolerance for acceptance. Do you realize that all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance? — Romans 2:4 (TPT) “I am God—yes, I Am. I haven’t changed. And because I haven’t changed, you, the descendants of Jacob, haven’t been destroyed. You have a long history of ignoring my commands. You haven’t done a thing I’ve told you. Return to me so I can return to you,” says God-of-the-Angel-Armies. (Malachi 3:6-7 MSG)  Return to the LORD Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. (Psalm 103:4) He has loved you with an everlasting love. With lovingkindness He has drawn you to Himself. (See Jeremiah 31:3) May we declare His lovingkindness in the morning, and His faithfulness every night. (See Psalm 92:2 NKJV)

A Bright Future

Image
‘For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’ — Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) No matter what your current circumstances may be, the LORD has plans for you that are good and not for disaster. God will causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. (Proverbs 4:18 NASB) You can be confident that you will see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13) Your future is bright and filled with a living hope that will never fade away. — Proverbs 23:18 (TPT)

Now is the Time

Image
Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, till He comes and rains righteousness on you. — Hosea 10:12 (NKJV) Fallow ground is ground that has intentionally not been touched, worked or cultivated. Fallow ground is every heart that hasn’t allowed God to touch it. Fallow ground is every area of your life that the Word of God has not penetrated, taken root and transformed. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek and search diligently for the LORD [and to long for His blessing] (Hosea 10:12 AMP) How do we break up the fallow ground? By opening our hearts and receiving the Word of God, His grace and His love. Once we receive His Word (seed) and let it take root in our hearts, we will bear much fruit. I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and shower righteousne...

Greater Joy

Image
Many people say, “Who will show us better times?” Let your face smile on us, LORD. You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. — Psalm 4:6-7 (NLT) We experience the best of times in the presence of the LORD. There is no greater joy than to delight ourselves in the presence of the Most High God. He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). He is the God of more than enough. The Message Bible says, “I have God’s more-than-enough, more joy in one ordinary day than they get in all their shopping sprees.” (Psalm 4:7) Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; and shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart. (Psalm 32:11 NASB)

Matters of the Mind

Image
…casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, — 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) Where your mind goes, you follow. If you entertain anxious thoughts, then you will be tense and full of anxiety. If you keep your mind stayed on the LORD, He will keep you in perfect peace. (Isaiah 26:3). When our thoughts do not line up with the Word of God, we need to cast them down and bring them into alignment with the Word. Let us refuse to conform to the pattern of this world, and be transformed by renewing our minds with God’s Word. (Romans 12:2 NIV). Joshua 1:8 says, this Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on...

Simply Love

Image
The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. — 1 Timothy 1:5 (MSG) If we want to ensure our love is uncontaminated we need to live our lives open to God. God is love. As we stay open to Him, He transforms us from the inside (our hearts) to the outside. As we stay open to God and the work His Holy Spirit is doing in us, His love will permeate every fiber of our being. As we fully embrace God's love, we can let go of self-interest, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc. Let us knock down any barriers we have erected and live open to God. This is the optimal position from which to love, love the LORD and love others, with a plain and simple love and no hidden agendas.

After a Little While

Image
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong firm and steadfast. — 1 Peter 5:10 (NIV) Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you (1 Peter 4:12 NLT). Look away from all the distractions and fix your eyes upon Jesus, the source of all our faith and hope. Persevere the struggles, and after you have suffered a little while, God will restore you and make you strong.

A New Thing!

Image
Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. — Isaiah 43:19 (AMP) “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare;” (Isaiah 42:9, NKJV). God is doing a new thing! Stop studying past events. They cannot be changed. No longer cling to what is old and familiar. The Apostle Paul said, “one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 3:13b-14, NKJV). Today is a new day! May we press on and look forward to what lies ahead!

Set Your Mind & Heart

Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind and heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come as a consequence of [and in response to] your words. — Daniel 10:12 (AMP) In order to gain understanding, we have to set our minds on the Word of God and how to apply it to our lives. We must set our hearts on seeking the LORD and His specific will. To set means: to put, lay, or stand something in a specified place or position. When we begin a journey, we set a GPS to direct us to our desired destination. Likewise, we should also purposefully position ourselves in a posture of prayer and consistently meditate on His wonderful Word, and wait to receive direction from our heavenly Father. Then, like Daniel,  we open the door to receive visions of our future and the intervention of angelic beings.

Reflect the Lord's Glory

As all of us reflect the Lord’s glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. — 2 Corinthians 3:18 (GW) May we submit to the work of God's Holy Spirit within us, in every area of our lives, so we can continually be transformed into His image. And our lives will gradually become brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him (2 Corinthians 3:18, The Message).

Free to Live!

This is the kind of life you've been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. 1 Peter 2:21-24 (The Message) Let us follow in the footsteps of Jesus. He is our example. He endured everything that came His way. He was content to let God make things right. He didn't speak a word outside of the Father's will. He bore our sins in His body on the cross and set us free from sin. We are free to live the right way, a life of righteousness, peace and wholeness. By His wounds we are healed.

A Sweet-Smelling Aroma

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 (NKJ) May we live a life of love just as Jesus Christ loved us and offered Himself up for us. Let us release our love as a sacrifice to others that they may enjoy it's sweet-smelling aroma. Oh how sweet the smell of a patient kind of love, that does not envy and is not self-seeking. How pleasant the fragrance of a love that is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs. Of faith, hope and love, love is the greatest. Love extravagantly.

He's Making a Way

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 (NIV ) Even though you cannot see it, the LORD is making a way for you. What seems impossible to man is possible with God. Keep looking to Him with eyes of faith and He will show you the way. Love, Jackie
