Manna for Your Morning

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. — Romans 12:2 (MSG) As we focus on our heavenly Father and all His wonderful attributes, we will become more like Him (loving, kind, gentle, etc.). When we pay close attention to His Word, we allow God to transform us by changing the way we think. He will mold us and shape us and bring the best out of us. May we be captivated by His love and thankful for all that He is doing in our lives here and now.

Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice. — Psalm 51:16-17 (MSG) When we think our way is better than God's way, it is pride. Instead of following the behavior of this world or man-made traditions, let God transform you into a new person by taking your heart in His hands and molding it to be more like His. The sacrifice God desires is a broken and a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). We truly worship God when we humbly lay our hearts on His altar and follow His ways.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. — Romans 12:1-2 (NLT) We will experience lasting transformation when we truly worship God by surrendering all of our members to Him and continually renew our minds with His Word.

As we renew our minds with the Word of God, and let it take root in our hearts, we are transformed. We are changed from the inside out, to be more like our heavenly Father. When we get God's Word in us, He brings the best out of us and we have a positive influence on the world around us. Amen.

He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the wretched who've been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guests, a place of honor among the brightest and best. He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. Hallelujah! Psalm 113:7-9 (The Message) Our heavenly Father is the ultimate transformer. He specializes in changing the condition of our lives, hearts and minds. God picks up the poor out of the dirt and raises us up in Christ and seats us in heavenly places in Christ. He shows us the incomparable riches of His grace. He crowns us with glory and honor and gives us a deposit, guaranteeing our inheritance. He takes those who have been thrown out by society and treasures them with love and compassion. God takes that which is dead and barren and brings it back to life and makes it fruitful. Glory be to God!

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV) Yes, God is love and we are in the process of becoming like Him. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJ) says, we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. As we surrender to the work of His Holy Spirit within us, and walk in unconditional love with one another, His love will be made complete in us (1 John 4:12). Release any unforgiveness, bitterness and jealousy and choose love.

Romans 12:2 (NLT) Once we refuse to imitate the self-seeking, vengeful ways of this world and think about the love, forgiveness, and grace we find in the Word, our minds will be renewed and God will transform us into new people from the inside out. When we conform to God's ways, we will know, without a doubt, how good, pleasing and perfect His will truly is.

The seed that fell on rock is like those who hear God's teaching and accept it gladly, but they don't allow the teaching to go deep into their lives. They believe for a while, but when trouble comes, they give up. Luke 8:13 (NCV) Don't be one of those who give up in times of trouble. Hide the Word of God in your heart, let it take root and go deep. The Word is a lamp to your feet and it lights the path which shows you the way to go (Psalm 119:105).
