Manna for Your Morning

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.  — Psalm 24:7-9 (NKJV) Was this psalmist telling us to lift up our heads because we are in a state of slumber? Let us arise, for the glory of the LORD is shining on us. If your head is hung low today, look UP. Let us open the gates of our hearts that the King of glory may enter. Don't let the bars of doubt and fear keep Him out. May we open the gates of our eyes and see the beauty of the LORD. May we open the gates of our ears to hear His still small voice. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. — Galatians 5:25 (NLT) My beloved brethren, there is no greater joy than abiding in the presence of Almighty God and basking in the wonderful light of His love. And the greatest peace we can ever have is knowing we are walking aligned to God’s perfect will. Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives (Galatians 5:25 MSG). If we look to Him, He is faithful to show us the way and provide what we need for each step.

That’s why we live with such good cheer. You won’t see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don’t get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? — 2 Corinthians 5:6-7 (MSG) Our complete trust in the goodness of God will keep our heads lifted high, as we look to Him. Remembering that the LORD hears his people when they call to him for help and rescues them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17-18 NLT), is what will keep us going. Being confident that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13), will keep us from dragging our feet.

You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. — Psalm 66:12 (NIV) No matter how deep the troubled waters get or how hot the flames of adversity become, God promises to be with us. He will bring us through. He will not leave us, nor abandon us. Isaiah 43:2 says, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you (AMP). And once we have gone through, God brings us to a place of great abundance and rich fulfillment. Amen!
