Better than Life

Image
A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. — Psalm 84:10 (NLT) One day in the Presence of our heavenly Father is better than a thousand anywhere else. May we prioritize His Presence and honor the privilege of being allowed access to fellowship with our holy God. O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.   (Psalm 63:1-4 NASB) Let us continually praise the LORD, because His unfailing love is better than life itself.

A Single Day

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. — Psalm 84:10-11 (NLT) One day in the Presence of God, cannot compare to a lifetime without Him. And He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name (Psalm 100:4, NKJV).

Called by Name

The one who enters through the gate is the shepherd. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep respond to his voice. He calls his sheep by name and leads them out of the pen.  — John 10:2-3 (GW) Jesus calls you by name. He is intimately acquainted with you. He knows the number of hairs on your head. You have not been forgotten. Jesus is the good Shepherd. He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him (John 10:14). Jesus knows everything about us, the best and the absolute worst. Yet, He still loves us. What an amazing love we have in Jesus!
