“Meanwhile, the people of Israel settled in the region of Goshen in Egypt. There they acquired property, and they were fruitful, and their population grew rapidly.” — Genesis 47:27 (NLT) What an amazing and faithful God! Yahweh caused His people to multiply and be fruitful in the midst of a severe famine. After the Egyptians ran out of money to buy food, they exchanged their livestock and cattle. Then, they sold their land because the famine was so severe. Eventually they became Pharaoh’s servants. (See Genesis 47:14-25) At the same time, God caused His people to prosper in Goshen. Yahweh shows Himself faithful to the word He spoke to Jacob in Genesis 46:3 (NLT). Then God said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants! — Genesis 35:11 (NLT) Yahweh is God Almighty (Hebrew: El Shaddai). He is all-sufficient, all-bountiful, and all-powerful, the source of all our blessings. He is a God of abundance. In Genesis 36:6-7, Esau took his entire household, along with his livestock and cattle—all the wealth he had acquired in the land of Canaan—and moved away from his brother, Jacob. There was not enough land to support them both because of all the livestock and possessions they had acquired. God not only blessed Jacob, but Esau as well. Now before the year of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On, bore to him. Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, “For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” He named the second Ephraim, “For,” he said, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.” — Genesis 41:50-52 (NASB1995) The place of our most difficult hardships can be the very place of our greatest victory and fruitfulness. Patient endurance is what we need. In the time of adversity, when it seems you are being tested in the fiery furnace of affliction, earnestly seek Yahweh. He is our strength and our fortress, our refuge in the day of affliction. Like Joseph, let us forget all of our past troubles. Let go of any resentment, unforgiveness and bitterness. (See John:15:16) The Amplified Bible points out that bearing the fruit of the Spirit, is the result of His presence within us. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:4-5 (NKJV) In the Amplified Bible Jesus says “… apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. ” (John 15:5) Our union with Him is vital. In order to live the abundant and fruitful life He intended for us, we have to abide in Him. Your cell phone or any electronic device is useless, unless it has been plugged into an electric source and charged. And a believer who is disconnected from their Source is unable to perform and function as we were created to. Let us stay connected to Jesus, the Source of our life. As we remain engaged with Him, we have everlasting peace that is not moved by earthly circumstances. When we are plugged into His Presence we experience fullness of joy, ...

The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. — Job 42:12 (NIV) Whether your former life was great or not so good, the LORD can make the rest of your life, the absolute best of your life. He will turn your sadness into gladness, and your mourning into dancing. He takes the barren and makes it fruitful. He fills what is empty. Our mighty God will restore what the enemy has stolen and what the locusts has eaten. What is dead, our living God can breathe new life into it. What you once thought was a problem will be your praise. “Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the LORD and whose hope and confident expectation is the LORD.” (Jeremiah 17:7 AMP)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. — Psalm 32:8 (NIV) The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. (Isaiah 58:11 NKJV). The loving eye of God is always watching over His children. When we go through dry places, He will satisfy our souls. As we follow His instruction and guidance, we will be fruitful like a a well-watered garden, and flouri sh like a spring of water that never runs dry. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. (Psalm 34:15 NKJV)

He named the second [son] Ephraim (fruitfulness), for “God has caused me to be fruitful and very successful in the land of my suffering.” — Genesis 41:52 (AMP) God gave Joseph dreams as a young boy, but Joseph had to persevere the pit and the prison before he progressed to the palace. Maybe what he went through in the pit and in the prison prepared him to be successful in the palace. Could it be that what you are going through is part of God’s plan for your dreams to be fulfilled? The adversities we face can very well be part of the process God will use to position us for fruitfulness and success. You will experience some troubles and uphill battles on the path of fulfilling your purpose, but rest assured that God can cause the land of your pain and suffering to be the exact place of your fruitfulness and success. Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. — 1 Timothy 6:17 (NKJV) Let us not trust in the temporary things of this world. Keep your confidence, trust and hope in the living God. He is above all else. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17 NKJV). In Him we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28). In Him, we have everything we need to enjoy a rich and fruitful life.

The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. — Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV) When we are dry, the LORD satisfies us with living water. As we draw from His eternal fountain of living waters, we will never run dry. He gives us strength to stand through every storm, strength to face each day as it comes. In His strength, we are able to continue on the path of life, He lays before us. We shall be like a well watered garden, fruitful and thriving.

God, investigate my life;     get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you;     even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back;     I’m never out of your sight. You know everything I’m going to say     before I start the first sentence. I look behind me and you’re there,     then up ahead and you’re there, too—     your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful—     I can’t take it all in! — Psalm 139:1-6 (MSG) Though people may say one thing and do another, our God does not lie. He will never leave us nor abandon us. He is intimately involved in every detail of our lives. We are never out of His sight. No matter what we go through, He is there to reassure us. His Presence empowers us enables us to live a victorious, and fruitful life!

I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word. — Psalm 119:147 (NKJV) There is a proliferation of self-help books, and how-to guides, lining the shelves of bookstores today. However, for improvement and success in life, we need the original owners manual for our souls, the Word of God. The Word is a love letter from the One who created us. It’s pages bear the blood of our Savior, who loved us enough to give His life to save us. The Word of God is a road map. It will navigate us to a fruitful land of abundant life, peace that surpasses all understanding and a lovingkindness that will outlast any storm. He sent His Word and healed us, and delivered us from our destructions (Psalm 107:20). Hope continually in His Word!

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. — Psalm 1:2-3 (NKJV) Make this season a fruitful season in your life by delighting yourself in God’s Word and being planted firmly in His house, so the seeds of His Word can continue to be watered and bring forth the desired fruit. For the word of God is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12 NLT). It will cut through the weeds of life and make room for you to blossom and flourish.

We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed. — 2 Corinthians 4:8-9  (NCV) Look at the troubles before you, as opportunities for God to display His greatness. No matter what hostile environments we must endure, God is there with us. We are not abandoned nor forgotten. We may get hurt, but we are not destroyed. Never give up the hope of living the abundant and fruitful life Jesus came to give us (John 10:10).

...that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; — Colossians 1:10-11 (NKJV) May we walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, that pleases Him in every way. Refuse to let a worldly, hostile environment corrupt your God-honoring behavior and joyful attitude. Let us continually grow in our knowledge of God and experience a deeper, increasing intimacy with Him. Then we will be fruitful in every good work we undertake, in every area of our lives: spiritual, physical, financial, relationships, etc. May we be strengthened with His power that resides inside of us and enables us to endure and persevere ALL things, as we hold onto the everlasting joy of the Lord. Amen!

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, “For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” He named the second Ephraim, “For,” he said, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.” — Genesis 41:51-52 (NAS) After Joseph was in prison for two years, Pharoah set him over all the land of Egypt (Genesis 41:41-42). God can make the place where you experience the most hurt and pain (the land of your suffering), the same place where you experience abundant fruitfulness. The area where you fight your most difficult battle, can become the place where you experience the greatest  blessings. Praise the LORD, who is able to make you forget all your troubles!

He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the things of God; and as long as he sought (inquired of, yearned for) the Lord, God made him prosper. — 2 Chronicles 26:5 (AMP) When we seek the Lord, with all of our hearts, He makes us prosper. Prosperity touches every area of our lives. Our physical bodies are in good health, our souls flourish, and we are fruitful. We maintain healthy, loving relationships (based on compassion, trust, and respect). We have more than enough, thus the abundant life that Jesus came to give us. Let us dedicate our lives to drawing near to God, yearning for His Presence every moment, and delighting to do His will.  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2).

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”  — Psalm 92:12-15 (NIV) If we want to stay fresh and flourishing we must be planted in the house of the LORD. In order to continually bear fruit for the kingdom of God, let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:24-25). May we make fellowship with our heavenly Father and other believers a priority in our lives, so we can flourish in the courts of our God. Amen!

And the name of the second (son) he called Ephraim: “For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” — Genesis 41:52 (NKJV) In spite of being sold into slavery by his brothers and falsely accused by His master's wife, God caused Joseph to be fruitful in the land of his affliction. The situations that cause you the greatest distress or suffering can also cause you to be more productive and fruitful. The land of your affliction can be the place of your greatest blessing and victory. We can grow stronger and stronger in the midst of adversity and opposition. Amen!
