Manna for Your Morning

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33 (NKJV) A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. (Proverbs 17:22 NLT) Be of good cheer. In our Lord and Savior, Yeshua, we can have perfect peace and fullness of joy. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalms 46:1 NKJV) Unless the LORD had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. (Psalms 94:17-19 NLT) “You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth.” — Psalms 71:20 (NLT)

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, — James 1:2 (NASB) James says to consider it ALL joy, not just the easy stuff, or the times when things are convenient and free-flowing. We can consider it ALL joy when we encounter various trials because it is a chance for Yahweh to show Himself strong on our behalf. Second Chronicles 16:9 (NASB) says: For the eyes of the LORD roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. Trials also help us grow stronger in our faith, and learn to be confident that the God Most High is WITH us and He is FOR us. If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? (See Romans 8:31 AMP) Whatever we need, Yahweh is our Source and His supply is limitless. He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Continually look to Him and rely on Him. Our help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Amen! knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have...

Praise Yahweh forever, the God of Israel! He is the one and only God of wonders, surpassing every expectation. The blazing glory of his name will be praised forever! “So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” — 1 Kings 3:9 (NASB1995) The LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream and God said, “Ask what you wish Me to give you.” (See 1 Kings 3:5)  Instead of focusing on riches for himself or revenge on his enemies, King Solomon asked for an understanding heart, and it was pleasing in the sight of the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. (See 1 Kings 3:10) Let us seek to have an understanding heart, to discern between good and evil. Proverbs 14:33 says: Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding… Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; (Proverbs 2:2 NASB1995) May the LORD give us understanding according to His word. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me? The LORD is on my side, He is among those who help me; Therefore I will look [in triumph] on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. — Psalm 118:6-8 (AMP) “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side when men rose up against us, then they would have [quickly] swallowed us alive…” (Psalm 124:2-3a AMP) Yahweh has not brought you this far to leave you now. Stay in the safety of His pasture. He makes me whole again, steering me off worn, hard paths to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name. Even in the unending shadows of death’s darkness, I am not overcome by fear. Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you, O God? You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. — Psalm 71:19-20 (NLT) My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. (James 1:2-3 TPT) And after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation. (See 1 Peter 5:10)

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. — 1 John 4:7-8 (NLT) Let us devote ourselves to loving one another and pursue peace with all men (Hebrews 12:14a NASB) “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:9)  “Be angry, and do not sin” (Ephesians 4:26A NKJV) “You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.” (Matthew 5:21-22 NLT) Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins ...

…casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. — 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) I like this verse in the Amplified Bible, because it says “ once and for all ”. That means once we cast our cares, we need to leave them in the “something for God to do” box and not pull them out again. This morning, as I was casting all my cares on the Lord, He reminded me that we are to wait on Him, instead of picking up our concerns again. Isaiah 40:31 (NASB) says, Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. May we come out from under the circumstances, and continue to soar high, letting the power of His love be the wind beneath our wings, that carries us from glory to glory. Amen!

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. — Acts 20:24 (NKJV) Don’t be moved by the troubles that come your way. For our light and momentary afflictions won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! (2 Corinthians 4:17) Continue to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7) Let's not just finish the race, but let us cross the finish line with joy. The joy of the LORD is your strength. Never let the enemy steal your joy.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. — Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) Endurance: the ability to sustain or withstand an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way. The Word encourages us to run our race with endurance. That means we never give up and we don't quit! We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (Hebrews 12:1 NLT) But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah — Psalm 61:2-4 (NKJV) Our heavenly Father dwells in a higher place. His ways higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He is higher than any mountain that stands before us. When we take refuge in the shelter of His wings, we rise above the circumstances of this world. Dwell in the secret place of the Most High. He is our shelter from the enemy. It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. ( Psalm 18:32-33 NKJV )

“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” — Acts 5:38-39 (NIV) When we run off and do our own thing, we run the risk of working against our heavenly Father. Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track (Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG).

For the LORD delights in his people;  he crowns the humble with victory. — Psalm 149:4 (NLT) The LORD our God is with us, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He takes great delight in us and rejoices over us with singing. God is ever mindful of us. He calms all our fears, with His love. Like a devoted father, takes care of his children, our heavenly Father provides for all our needs and works all things together for good. As a loving mother is attentive to her baby, Abba Father keeps watch over us and delights in our well-being. Find comfort in His care and rejoice in the LORD, our great God!

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?  — Psalm 56:3-4 (NKJV) God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). May we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them (1 John 4:16). And there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Trust God and live in love!

With flattery he will corrupt those who abandon the promise. But the people who know their God will be strong and take action. — Daniel 11:32 (GW) Have you listened to the lies of the enemy and abandoned the promises of God? In the midst of adverse circumstances, we must press in closer to God, dig deeper in His Word and stand on His promises. No matter what difficulties may come, be strong in the LORD and take action according to the word He has spoken to you.

The LORD is compassionate, merciful, patient, and always ready to forgive. As high as the heavens are above the earth— that is how vast his mercy is toward those who fear him. Psalm 103:8, 11 (GW) God is full of mercy and grace. He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 4:9). He is always ready to forgive. He removes our sins from us, as far as the east is from the west. The LORD is rich in love and not easily angered. In His deep compassion, He delivers us time after time. His compassions never fail, they are new every morning. Praise the LORD!

Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer. 2 Timothy 2:3-4 (NIV) Today, as we remember those who have endured hardship to the point of giving their lives in service to our country, let's strengthen our resolve to please the One who enlisted us as soldiers - Christ Jesus. Don't get distracted by the affairs of everyday life. Like a good soldier, stay focused and keep marching ahead on the mission given to you by our Commanding Officer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. Job 42:10-11 (NIV) When Job took his eyes off himself and prayed for his friends, God restored him. God gave him twice as much as he had before and Job had ten more children. Job didn't hold any grudges. He welcomed his relatives and friends into his home, those who had deserted him in his time of need. The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. And Job saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. Let us take our eyes off of ourselves, our pain, our trials & tribulations and keep them on God and others.
