A Light for Our Path

Image
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. — Psalm 119:105 (NLT) When we don't know which way to go, the Word of God will show us the way. Romans 12:2 (NASB1995) says: do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. May we renew our minds daily, with the Word of God. Instead of compromising with the current culture or conforming to the ways of this world, spend time in the Word, growing in understanding of our Heavenly Father and His heart for all people. The Bible will renew our minds and transform us by changing the way we think. The Living Word will equip us and empower us to walk in His ways and according to His will. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, ...

Be a Light-Bearer

Image
“ You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. ” — Matthew 5:14-16 (NASB) ...because, although you were once the personification of darkness, you are now light in the Lord. So act like children of the light. For the fruit of the light is all that is good, right, and true. Make it your aim to learn what pleases our Lord. (Ephesians 5:8-10 VOICE) Be that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, and light up the darkness that is in the world. Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” — John 8:12 (NASB)

LIT!

LORD, you light my lamp; my God illuminates my darkness. With you I can attack a barricade, and with my God I can leap over a wall. — Psalm 18:28-29 (CSB) For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Live as children of light— (Ephesians 5:8 CSB) …if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin… — 1 John 1:7 (AMP)

By His Light

Image
When His lamp shone upon my head, and when by His light I walked through darkness; — Job 29:3 (NKJV) How do we walk through the dark times in our lives? By His light. God is the LORD, and He has given us light; (Psalm 118:27). Let us walk in the light of the LORD. For He lights your lamp; the LORD your God illuminates your darkness, so you can see with clarity, the way you are to go. He smooths out the rugged places. He makes your feet like the feet of deer, and sets you on your high places. (Psalm 18:33)                                                                                                       I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light ...

God's GPS

Image
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. — Psalm 32:8 (NIV) When we don't know which way to go, we have God’s Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us.  His still small voice inside of you will guide you along the best pathway for your life. (Psalm 32:8 NLT) We also have His Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. (Psalm 119:105 NKJV). God’s Holy Spirit in you and His Word is the best GPS system. Be led by His Spirit and He will get you exactly where you need to be.

Armed with Strength

Image
You have armed me with strength for the battle; — 2 Samuel 22:40a (NLT) Whatever battles you face today, press on, in the strength of the LORD. With us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles (2 Chronicles 32:8). “ O LORD, you are my lamp. The LORD lights up my darkness. In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”  (2 Samuel 22:29-31 NLT)

For The Light

Image
“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.” — Exodus 27:20 (NKJV) Olive oil is made by a strenuous and tedious process of pressing olives. The Israelites needed olive oil for the morning and evening offerings, so it was an ongoing requirement that took diligence and dedication. In a similar fashion, as difficulties and troubles press us, let us commit to continually make the right choices and allow the impurities to be squeezed out of us. When we choose life and godliness, we allow God’s light to shine brighter and brighter through us. Be a vessel of His light. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; (2 Corinthians 4:8 NIV)

The Bright & Morning Star

Image
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” — Revelation 22:16 (NKJV) …we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. (2 Peter 1:19 NLT). Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star. He brings light to dark situations and dark places. In His glorious light there is hope, joy, peace and freedom. Let the light of His love shine in your heart. Let it permeate every fiber and illuminate those around you. Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1 NKJV)

Life through His Word

Image
Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word. Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you. — Psalm 119:37-38 (NLT) The Holy Bible is a love letter from God, full of promises He makes to His Beloved, that’s us. His wonderful Word gives us life. It strengthens us and revives us. (Psalm 110:25, 28). The Word of God is our comfort in affliction (Psalm 119:50). His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Forever, His Word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). When we stand on His Word, we are standing on solid ground. May we  meditate on it day and night. (Psalm 119:105)

Light in the Darkness

Image
You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. — Psalm 18:28-29 (NIV) Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous (Psalm 112:4 NIV). On your darkest day, the light of the LORD will arise. When we fall, we will arise; when we sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to us (Micah 7:8). Praise God!

Choose the Good Part

Image
And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV) Instead of being worried and troubled, let us be like Mary. She sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word (Luke 10:39). The Message Bible says, she sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. May we sit in the presence of the Son and soak in the rays of His marvelous, life-giving light. The one thing we need is His Presence. Instead of trying to figure out every detail of your life, let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

Led by the LORD

So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt. — Exodus 13:18 (NKJV) The LORD went before the Israelites by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night (Exodus 13:21). Today, we have His Holy Spirit inside of us to lead us. We also have His word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). When we follow the LORD, we will always be exactly where God wants us, in the right place, at the right time. Submit to God and let Him lead you along the path He has before you.

A Lamp & A Light

Image
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. — Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) At night, the bright light given by a lighthouse is used to guide ships safely into port and it also warns them of danger, things they cannot see in the darkness. In like manner, God’s Word is a lamp we can use to guide our feet. It lights up our path and warns us of the dangers of traveling on the wrong paths. Follow the light of the Word!

He Enlightens the Darkness

“For You are my lamp, O LORD; The LORD shall enlighten my darkness.  For by You I can run against a troop;  By my God I can leap over a wall.  As for God, His way is perfect;  The word of the LORD is proven;  He is a shield to all who trust in Him. ”   — 2 Samuel 22:29-31 (NKJV) Our God is a God of transformation. He turns our darkness into light. He takes the broken things in our lives and makes them whole again. God brings dead things back to life. He brings healing to the sick. With Him, the impossible, becomes possible. He is perfect in all His ways!

Break Through Barricades

O Lord, you light my lamp. My God turns my darkness into light. With you I can attack a line of soldiers. With my God I can break through barricades. Psalm 18:28-29 (God's Word) God lights our lamps so we can see which way to go. When all we can see is pitch black, God shines His light, like the sun rising in its strength. With God on our side, our enemies who rise against us will be defeated. They will attack from one direction, but they will flee in seven directions (Deut. 28:7). With our mighty God, we can break through any barricade that tries to block our path.

Enlighten My Darkness

For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18:28 (NKJ) When the doom and gloom of life tries to overtake us, the LORD enlightens our darkness. God has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). The dark, stormy clouds may last for a season, then God turns our darkness into light.
