Manna for Your Morning

Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God, “Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?” The LORD answered, “Judah is to go first.” — Judges 20:18 (NLT) In the first battle, Benjamin’s warriors, killed 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield. (See Judges 20:21) In Judges 20:23, the Israelites sought Yahweh again. For they had gone up to Bethel and wept in the presence of the LORD until evening. They asked the LORD, “Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again?” And the LORD said, “Go out and fight against them.” So the next day they went out again to fight against the men of Benjamin, but the men of Benjamin killed another 18,000 Israelites. (See Judges 20:24-25) In Judges 20:28, they sought God a third time. The Israelites asked the LORD, “Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again, or should we stop?” The LORD said, “Go! For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” (Joshua 1:5 NLT)  Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13 NLT) And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:19 (NLT) Amen.

Do not let mercy and truth leave you. Fasten them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will find favor and much success in the sight of God and humanity. — Proverbs 3:3-4 (GW) For favor and success in life, let mercy and truth be engraved on the fibers of your heart. The Amplified Bible says to let these qualities define you. The Lord, is a compassionate and merciful God. He is patient, always faithful and ready to forgive. (Psalm 86:15 GW) His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. (Psalm 100:5 NKJV) Just as we appreciate these qualities in our heavenly Father, may we also show mercy and walk in truth with all people.

As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me… — Psalm 55:16-18a (NKJV) God has called us to peace in the midst of war. Inquire of Him in every battle. He has all your days written in His book and He knows the best way for you to go. Staying on the course He has for you leads to success and victory. Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 NKJV)

An arrogant and greedy man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will be blessed and prosper. — P roverbs 28:25 (AMP) Man may fail us, but we will never be disappointed when we trust in and rely on the LORD. “Trust in the LORD forever, for in God the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. (Isaiah 26:4 NASB) When we keep our confidence in His Word and follow His ways, we flourish and experience success in all areas of our lives. Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. (Psalm 37:3 NLT)

…and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. — Revelation 2:3 (NKJV) The dictionary says persevere means to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success. No matter how things may appear at this moment in time, we need to persevere. Let us always stand on God’s Word, persist in prayer and continually thank and praise God for victory and success in every area of our lives. Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail. (James 5:10-11 MSG)

You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.’ — Deuteronomy 3:22 (NKJV) Have no fear of the giants that stand before you. Mountains are molehills to our great God.  So don’t be discouraged by the fiery trials and tribulations that come, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Second Chronicles 20:17 says, You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you…   For victory and success in the battles of life, humble yourself under His mighty hand, keep your heart in a position of prayer, and stand on His Word.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. — James 1:2-3 (NLT) When troubles of any kind come your way, there exists a opportunity for advancement and success. Your perseverance leads to your perfection. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:4 NIV). The challenges we face, are opportunities for God to show Himself strong and mighty on our behalf. Any obstacle we face gives us a chance to strengthen our faith. They remind us that we walk by faith and not by what we see. What appears to be a drawback is really a set-up for your success.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9a (NLT) The Apostle Paul was given a thorn in his flesh, to keep him from becoming proud. Three different times he begged the Lord to take it away and each time, the Lord directed Paul’s attention back to Himself. (2 Corinthians 12:7-8) We all have some thorny things in our lives that continue to prick us and make us uncomfortable. They constantly call for our attention. Sometimes we pay too much attention to our weaknesses, those things that consistently challenge us. That will cost us our peace and our joy. Instead, let us remember what the Lord said, (His grace is all we need), and shift our focus to the Lord. Then, His power is able to work in us and through us, to bring about God's perfect will in our lives. His grace strengthens us to be and do all that we are called to be and do. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” —Joshua 1:8-9 MSG As we meditate on the Word of God, we gain strength and wisdom to do what He has called us to do. And we will have good success. “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT). Let every step you take toward your goals and dreams, be a step of faith knowing that He is with you!

I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word. — Psalm 119:147 (NKJV) There is a proliferation of self-help books, and how-to guides, lining the shelves of bookstores today. However, for improvement and success in life, we need the original owners manual for our souls, the Word of God. The Word is a love letter from the One who created us. It’s pages bear the blood of our Savior, who loved us enough to give His life to save us. The Word of God is a road map. It will navigate us to a fruitful land of abundant life, peace that surpasses all understanding and a lovingkindness that will outlast any storm. He sent His Word and healed us, and delivered us from our destructions (Psalm 107:20). Hope continually in His Word!

  So David and his troops went up to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “God did it!” David exclaimed. “He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So they named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”). — 1 Chronicles 14:11 (NLT) So David did what God commanded, and they struck down his enemies. (1 Chronicles 14:16). The secret to David’s success is that He obeyed God. The price we pay or the investment we make is consistent obedience. And our faithful, mighty God will cause us to burst through our enemies or any other obstacles that dare stand in our way. Amen!

  Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. — Psalm 63:7-8  (NKJV) Let God lead, He knows the way. You follow His lead and stay close enough to be in His shadow. Peter followed Jesus at a distance and he ended up denying Him (Luke 22:54). The greater the distance, the more opportunity for distractions and detours to occur. Joshua wholly followed the LORD (Joshua 14:9) and he experienced great victories and good success. Let us be committed to following the LORD, wherever He may lead us.

David answered ... “As the LORD lives, who has redeemed my life from all adversity, — 2 Samuel 4:9  (NKJV) God delivered David out of all his troubles. So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him (2 Samuel 5:10). I believe the secret to David’s success was that he habitually inquired of the LORD (2 Samuel 2:1, 5:19, 5:23, 21:1). Then he followed through and did as the LORD commanded him (2 Samuel 5:25). As we abide in God, we too can go from adversity to advancement. Keep seeking God's will in every situation and the setbacks you experience in life will eventually propel you forward into the glorious destiny God has for you!

Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. — Psalm 37:5-6 (NKJV) Even though a man’s heart plans his way, it is the LORD who directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9). For good and lasting success, commit everything you do to the LORD and trust Him to bring it to pass in His perfect timing. The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way... (Psalm 37:23 AMP).

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” — Psalm 35:27 (NKJV) Our Heavenly Father has pleasure in the prosperity of His people. Prosperity is a all around state of well-being. It encompasses peace, good health, success in relationships, family and business, as well as wealth. John 10:10 says, Jesus came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly. He desires that we always have all sufficiency in all things, so we can have an abundance for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8). Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. — 3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. — Psalms 16:8-9 (NKJV) Keep the LORD before you in all that you do, and you can rest in hope. With God by your side, nothing on this earth can move you. Our God is greater and above all! Let your heart be glad, because He always leads us in triumph (victory & success) in Christ. I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. — Philippians 4:13 (AMP) We can do all things through Christ (NKJV). The key word here is “ through ” or “ in. ” If we rely on our own power and strength to accomplish anything, our confidence is in the flesh, and not in the Spirit of God. This almost always guarantees failure. In order to have the ability to do ALL things, we must operate through Christ and let His power work in us and through us. In order to experience good success and walk in victory, we are to be filled and led by the Spirit of God within us. Any type of vehicle has only one driver’s seat. If you want to get somewhere in life, leave the steering wheel in God’s hands!

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. — Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) In Hosea 4:6, the LORD says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Through knowledge the righteous will be delivered (Proverbs 11:9). When we lack wisdom in any situation, let us ask God for it and it will be given unto us. He gives generously to all, without finding fault (James 1:5). Wisdom prolongs the length of our days and brings riches and honor (Proverbs 3:16). Wisdom also brings success (Ecclesiastes 10:10). Wisdom calls aloud outside (Proverbs 1:20) Will you answer her call?

So the LORD was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did. — 2 Kings 18:7 (NLT) There are 3 things which Hezekiah did that led to His success. He did what was right in the sight of the LORD (2 Kings 18:3, NKJV). He trusted in the LORD God of Israel, and he held fast to Him. Hezekiah did not depart from following the LORD, but kept His commandments (2 Kings 18:5-6, NKJV). When we do what is pleasing in the LORD’s sight, completely trust in God and hold fast to Him, we can be certain that our heavenly Father will guide us along on the pathway to sweet and lasting success.
