He went in and sat with the guards and waited to see how it would all end. — Matthew 26:58 (NLT) When Jesus was arrested, Peter followed Him at a distance. This separation was followed by Peter denying three times that he even knew Jesus, to the point of cursing and swearing (Matthew 26:74). If we follow Jesus at a distance, we allow room for doubt. Distractions will come and cause us to detour off the path of everlasting life. Let us faithfully, follow Jesus closely. Live in the light and enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. Don’t get sidetracked, and all will end well for you. Jesus is the way! Avoid evil and walk straight ahead. Don't go one step off the right way. (Proverbs 4:27 GNT)

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. — Psalm 143:8 (NKJV) The LORD will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go (Psalm 32:8a NIV). He will lead you along the path of everlasting life. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. (Proverbs 4:27 MSG). When we are overwhelmed, He alone knows the way we should turn. (Psalm 142:3a NLT)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. — Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) God knows us better than we know ourselves. We cannot fool Him. He searches our minds and our hearts (Revelation 2:23). He knows what we are going to say before we even utter a word (Psalm 139:4). Be open and honest with your heavenly Father. Rid yourself of anything that offends Him and follow Him. The LORD will make known to you the path of life; He will fill you with joy in His presence, with eternal pleasures at His right hand (Psalm 16:11 NIV).

Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. — Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) May our hearts and minds be open to the LORD, for He searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. (1 Chronicles 28:9) He knows the thoughts that make you anxious, that’s why Philippians 4:6 tells us to be anxious for nothing. And 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) instructs us to cast all our anxiety on him because He cares for us. Then with peaceful hearts and minds we can follow the LORD as He leads us along the path of everlasting life.
