Be Deeply Rooted

Image
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) May we be deeply rooted and securely grounded in Jesus and the love of God. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. (Ephesians 3:17 NLT) Your roots nourish the rest of your body. If your roots are in an environment that is not conducive to growth, it will cause you to be weak and die spiritually. Being deeply rooted in Jesus gives us the nourishment to grow strong, thrive and bear much fruit. Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] an...

Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) The choice to follow Christ is a moment by moment decision. Let us make a dedicated decision to continually follow Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. When we build our lives, with Him as the foundation, our faith will grow strong. The Amplified Bibles says, “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin],” (Colossians 2:6) Amen. Now that you have welcomed the Anointed One, Jesus the Lord, into your lives, continue to journey with Him and allow Him to shape your lives. — Colossians 2:6 (VOICE)

Be Rooted in the Rock!

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) The Amplified Bible says: Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude. (Colossians 2:6-7) Let us be deeply rooted in Jesus, the everlasting Rock, and bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God. …and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. — 1 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)

Be Rooted

Image
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:7 (NLT) May we be deeply rooted in Jesus and in God's love, so we can bear much fruit for His Kingdom. We can only be rooted as we abide in Him. We are empowered when we maintain a constant connection with the Lord. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Jesus. (John 15:4) I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. — Ephesians 3:16-17 (NLT)

Keep Following

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. — Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) Following Jesus is a choice we make each moment of the day. May we continually follow Him and let our roots grow deep into Him. Then our faith and trust in Him will grow, and our hearts and mouths will overflow with thankfulness for all He has done and is doing. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

Live in Him

Image
…for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ — Acts 17:28 (NKJV) Why try to accomplish anything in your own strength and with your limited knowledge? ’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6) Put on the yoke of the Lord Jesus and journey by His side. His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:29-30). So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6-7 NIV)

Stay Fresh & Flourishing

Image
Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, — Psalm 92:13-14 (NKJV) We are to be planted in the house of the LORD. And Colossians 2:7 (NLT) says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Jesus is the vine, we are the branches. He who abides in Jesus, bears much fruit; for without Him we can do nothing. (John 15:5) As we are planted and rooted in Him, we will stay fresh, we will flourish and be fruitful. The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful]; They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable]. (Psalm 92:12 AMP)

Overflow with Thankfulness!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV) Those of us who are in Christ Jesus have so much to be thankful for, each and every day of the year. Amen! As the psalmist says in Psalm 103:2, forget NOT all His benefits. Abundant grace and mercy, everlasting love, deep compassion. The list goes on and on. Psalm 68:19 (NKJV) says, the Lord daily loads us with benefits. Our heavenly Father knows how to take care of His children and He is so faithful. He gives us strength and His wonder-working power is at work in us through His Holy Spirit, our Helper. Praise the Lord and continually have a heart full of thankfulness and gratitude each and every day God gives us breath! Have a BLESSED THANKSGIVING DAY!

Learn the Secret

I’ve learned to be content in whatever situation I’m in. I know how to live in poverty or prosperity. No matter what the situation, I’ve learned the secret of how to live when I’m full or when I’m hungry, when I have too much or when I have too little. I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:11-13 (GW) Learn the secret of how to be content in your inner being regardless of the external circumstances. This will lead to a peaceful attitude of appreciation and thankfulness to our heavenly Father for all that He provides. Whatever we have and wherever we are, we can make it through anything as long as we abide in Christ and follow Him wherever He leads.

Grow Deeper!

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) Let us build our lives on Jesus Christ, the everlasting Rock. May our roots grow deeper in Him each day as we produce much fruit in the garden of the Lord. Your faith will be strengthened in the truth and songs of thanksgiving will burst forth from your heart and fill the air with a sweet-smelling fragrance.

A Sacrifice of Thankfulness

“Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Psalm 50:14-15 (NLT) Let your sacrifice to God be a thankful heart. Give thanks to the Most High for his unfailing love and undying compassion. Thank Him for His awesome deeds. And be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Love, Jackie

Watch Your Words

When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you. Ephesians 4:29 (NCV) Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God (Ephesians 5:4, NLT). As you spend time with family and friends remember to speak encouraging words that will build them up and make them stronger. May the words you speak give honor and glory to God. Amen. Love, Jackie

All He Has Done

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) Remember to thank God for all He has done in your life. Think about how far He has brought you and all the mess He has seen you through. God is a good God and He is worthy of all our praise. When we take our eyes off of what we don't have and turn our attention to all God has provided, our hearts and minds will be filled with the precious peace of God. Love, Jackie

Live in Him!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV ) Let your roots grow deep into the Lord and build your lives on Him, the sure foundation. Live in Him at all times. In Him we are new creations. The old passes away and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). In Jesus we have life more abundantly. We are set free, healed, and made whole. In Him we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). Give thanks and praise to the Lord. Love, Jackie

Give Thanks

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) Our hearts are to overflow with thankfulness to God at all times. Even in difficult times we can thank God for giving us the strength and direction to get through the trial. Don't wait until you see circumstances change, thank in Him in advance because we know He has already given us the victory. I thank God for you. Love, Jackie

My Thanksgiving Story

I led them with chords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them. Hosea 11:4 (NIV) In the above Scripture, God is talking about how He cared for Israel.  He leads them with human kindness and ties of love. I started my quiet time with the LORD by thanking Him for all the wonderful blessings He has given me: my husband, our children, my parents, sisters, coworkers, church family and friends. But I'm most touched this morning by the kind acts of unknown strangers who I will probably never meet. Today my daughter, Crystal celebrates her 22nd birthday and Thanksgiving in the small town of Huntingdon, England where she serves in the Navy. I was brought to tears and my heart filled with gratitude as she told me how some military wives got together and served the military men & women a delicious Thanksgiving meal yesterday. I am so grateful to God for the kind acts of total strangers that reached out to my daughter when I couldn...

Whatever You Do...Give Thanks

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 (NIV) Let us give thanks for all God has given us to do and speak. Thank God for your spouse, children, family, and friends He has given you to love. Be grateful for the God given ability to work and play. I appreciate each and every one of you for being a part of my life. Have a BLESSED Thanksgiving Day! Thank you, Love, Jackie
