He Cares

Image
“Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.” — Psalms 138:6 (NLT) “The Lord supports the humble…” (See Psalms 147:6 NLT) “He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.” (Psalms 25:9-10 NLT) “Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” (Proverbs 11:2 NLT) A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor. (Proverbs 29:23 NKJV) And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12 NKJV) …“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (See 1 Peter 5:5-7 NKJV) “Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. For the LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble wit...

Remain in His Teaching

Image
“Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.” — 2 John 1:9 (NLT) Remain in the teaching of Christ and “…guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge” —which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you. Amen. (See 1 Timothy 6:20-21 NASB1995) May we be like Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what He taught. (See Luke 10:39) And be sure to also put it into practice. In Luke 11:28 (NLT) Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”

Be Very Attentive

Image
And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him. — Luke 19:47-48 (NKJV) The Amplified Bible says: all the people stayed close to Him and were hanging on to every word Jesus said (Luke 19:48). In Luke 10:39-40, Mary sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations. And Jesus said, “…Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42) Once we know the truth, no one can take it away from us. Instead of being distracted, may we be very attentive to the Word of God, daily. Let us stay close to Him, and hang on to every Word Jesus taught. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword… (Hebrews 4:12a NKJV) The Amplified Bible says, it is energizing, and effective. And the Message Bible says, it is like a surg...

Put your Heart into it

Image
Jesus answered, “Isaiah was right about frauds like you, hit the bull’s-eye in fact: These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their heart isn’t in it. They act like they are worshiping me, but they don’t mean it. They just use me as a cover for teaching whatever suits their fancy, ditching God’s command and taking up the latest fads.” — Mark 7:6-8 (MSG) But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (John 4:23 NKJV) For man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) Don't be like the Scribes and Pharisees. Their walk did not line up with their talk. Everything God did for us and is continually doing, is because of His great love for us. Out of our love for God, let us be true worshipers, not only speaking the Word of God, but also making sure our actions line up with His Word. James 1:22 (NLT) says, But don’t just l...
