“Who do you say that I am?”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” — Matthew 16:15-16 (NASB1995) First, Jesus asked His disciples: “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” (See Matthew 16:13) Then He asked them specifically, “…who do you say that I am?” What is more important for each one of us, is Who we say and believe Jesus is. As John the Baptist sat in prison, he sent two of his disciples to Jesus, saying, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” (See Matthew 11:2-3) There is no other. In John 14:6 Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” He is the chief Corner Stone of the foundation, in whom believers are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
