Enjoy Life

Image
“And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.” — Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 (NLT) Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. (1 Timothy 6:17 NKJV) Instead of brooding over the past, take the steps today that are headed in the direction of where you want to be tomorrow. However, the reality is you have no idea where your life will take you tomorrow. You are like a mist that appears one moment and then vanishes another. (See James 4:14 VOICE) But those who die in the LORD will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For your life-giving light will fall like dew on your people in the place of the dead! (Isaiah 26:19 ...

A Gift from God

Image
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” — Ephesians 2:8 (NLT) Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. (Ephesians 2:1 NLT) All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. (Ephesians 2:3 NLT) In those days you were living apart from Christ. You lived in this world without God and without hope. (See Ephesians 2:12) But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT) But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13 NLT) Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now...

Come, Listen & Eat

Image
“Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God]. “Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight in abundance. — Isaiah 55:1-2 (AMP) In Isaiah 55:3 (TPT) Yahweh says: “Pay attention and come closer to me, and hear, that your total being may flourish. I will enter into an everlasting covenant with you, and I will show you the same faithful love that I showed David.” The invitation to come is to everyone who thirsts. Money is not a requirement to come. Yahweh gives freely. He opens His hand and satisfies the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds. (See Psalms 145:16-17 NASB1995) Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8 NLT) Co...

THE Gift

Image
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;  — Ephesians 2:8 (NASB1995) ...the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age, (See Titus 2:11-12 NASB) God is not one to show partiality. (See Acts 10:34 NASB) His salvation is the perfect gift and it is for ALL people. Each person must choose to receive it for themselves. Like any gift, we must accept it before we can enjoy the benefits of it. He has set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; (See Deuteronomy 30:19) …the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in time of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him. (Psalm 37:39-40 NASB1995)...

A Gift from God

Image
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. — 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (NLT) What God has given us in Christ is the most perfect gift of all. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19 NLT)  Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ. (See 2 Corinthians 2:14)  As Christ’s representatives, may the way we live our lives (walking in love, full of joy and peace), draw others to Jesus. Our actions speak louder than the words we speak. Let us be model citizens in the Kingdom of God, that leave others wanting what we are so abundantly blessed to receive. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We ...

Give Thanks

Image
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. — 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT) We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. Let us receive them with an open heart. Anything else is related to death and ungodliness and a child of God wants no part of it. If our minds are preoccupied with the things of this world, we may not be able to perceive all the beautiful blessings our Heavenly Father showers upon us every moment of each and every day. As believers, let us set our sights on the things above. Psalm 128:1 (AMP) says: Blessed [happy and sheltered by God’s favor] is everyone who fears the LORD [and worships Him with obedience], who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. So let us enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and come into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His n...

Draw from the Well

Image
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”   The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? — John 4:10-11 (NKJV) If a well is the only source of water for a city and the people in that city never go to the well and draw water, they will die of thirst. Just as the Samaritan woman came to the well to draw water, we must come to Jesus, if we don’t want to perish. When we give our heart to Jesus, we receive the gift of God, eternal life and a more abundant life here on earth. Having believed, we were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13). We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. He is our Helper and the source of our strength. When we stay connected to Jesus, and continually draw from His Holy Spirit, an unlimited supply of resources are made available t...
