Be Renewed

Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. —Colossians 3:9-10 (NLT)

…put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude], (Ephesians 4:22-23 AMP). Putting on our new nature starts with what we allow our minds to dwell on. What is on our minds, eventually gets into our hearts and reveals itself in our speech and actions. Romans 12:2 (TPT) says, stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.

May your renewed mind be fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles. (See Romans 7:25 TPT)
