Come Closer

Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting. —James 4:8 (TPT)

Drawing closer to God, begins with humility. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (See James 4:6 NLT) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, (1 Peter 5:6 NASB). Submit to the authority of God. He is Elohim, the all-powerful, everlasting God. Resist the devil by standing firm against him and he will flee from you. Come closer to God, with a repentant heart and He will come close to you.

“My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.” —Isaiah 66:2 (NLT)
