In the Day of Trouble

Image
I cried out to God with my voice— to God with my voice; And He gave ear to me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted. — Psalm 77:1-2 (NKJV) When troubles come cry out to God. He will hear you. Remember that He is good and He does good (Psalm 119:68). Recall the works of the LORD; Surely remember His wonders of old. Also meditate on all His work, and talk of His deeds (Psalm 77:11-12). When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles (Psalm 34:17, AMP).

How Good It Is!

Image
But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do. — Psalm 73:28 (NLT) Let let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings (Hebrews 10:22, NIV). Psalm 73:28 in The Message says, I’m in the very presence of God—oh, how refreshing it is! Our weary souls are revived in the Presence of the LORD. In His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). There is no greater delight on earth, or in heaven than the joy of daily abiding in His Presence all of our days! We are abundantly satisfied with His goodness, when we make the LORD our shelter. Come close to God, and God will come close to you (James 4:8, NLT)

Great is Our Wonder-Working God!

Image
Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you, O God? — Psalm 71:19 (NLT) Great is our wonder-working God and greatly to be praised! The LORD has done such marvelous things, there is none to compare. Continually give thanks the LORD for all that He has done and is doing in your life. Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen (Psalm 72:18-19, NAS). The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun. — Psalm 74:16 (NKJV)

Fight, Run & Remain Faithful!

Image
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. — 2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) We fight the good fight of faith as we continue to speak God's Word, instead of the negative report the world gives us. We fight the good fight as we pray without ceasing. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). Run your race, with your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. This is the only race worth running! And remain faithful to the Lord and the call He has placed upon your life.

Make it Good!

Image
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” — Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) The word of the LORD endures forever (1 Peter 1:25). You can confidently stand on God’s Word. Whatever God has spoken to you, He will make it good. “For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11, AMP).

Shine as Lights!

Image
Then they journeyed… and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? ” — Numbers 21:4-5 (NKJV) Many of the people of Israel died from fiery serpents because they complained against the LORD (Numbers 21:6-7). When you become discouraged and don't understand “why?” God has allowed something to happen in your life, let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouth (Ephesians 4:29, NIV). Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, — Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV)

Make Gains!

Image
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. — 1 Corinthians 13:3 (NLT) We make gains in this life by sharing the genuine, selfless, love of Christ with others. If we don’t love, we've gotten nowhere. Love (affection and goodwill and benevolence) edifies and builds up and encourages one to grow [to his full stature] (1 Corinthians 8:1, AMP). Love never fails —it's instant in every season. Make great gains in your love!

Loaded with Benefits, Daily!

Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah — Psalm 68:19 (NKJV) Let us praise the Lord and forget not, all His benefits. Every day He heaps benefits upon us. The Lord forgives all our sins. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:12). He heals all our diseases. By His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). The Lord redeems our lives from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion. It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not (Lamentations 3:22, AMP). He satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:2-5)

Attend to What He Reveals

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. — Proverbs 29:18 (MSG) Revelation comes from God as we diligently seek Him and spend time in His Word. May we take our eyes off of ourselves and the distractions of this world, and pursue our God-given purpose and destiny. Everlasting happiness, contentment and true fulfillment reside in those who have embraced the wisdom of God and live in His will.

Our Portion...Our Only Hope!

Image
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever. — Psalm 73:26 (AMP) The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot (Psalm 16:5, AMP). God does not force Himself on anyone. We have to choose Him, first and foremost. And once we do, no one can take Him away from us. In comparison to our relationship with God, let us consider everything else as rubbish. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:24). Psalm 142:5, in the Message Bible says: ‘You’re my last chance, my only hope for life!’ May that be the cry of our hearts!

Follow Close Behind

Image
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. — Psalm 63:6-8 (NKJV) Think of the LORD and His goodness as you lie on your bed at night, because He faithfully brings you through each day. Abba Father awakens you in the morning and with His help you have the strength to get up. His fresh mercies and new compassions enable you to overcome challenges and fulfill all that He has called you to. Follow closely behind the LORD and His right hand will be your support.

In a Dry & Weary Land

Image
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, i n a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.  — Psalm 63:1-4 (NAS) In a dry and weary land, earnestly seek the LORD. Hunger and thirst for Him and you shall be satisfied and fulfilled. Draw from His living spring of unlimited power and strength. Because His lovingkindness is better than life itself, let your lips praise Him as long as you live! In His generous love we really find life and life more abundantly.

Wait as Long as He Says

Image
God, the one and only—I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, an impregnable castle: I’m set for life. — Psalm 62:1-2 (MSG) Let God and Him alone, occupy that number one spot in your heart, at all times. And after you have done all you can do, wait quietly before Him, with full expectation. All your days have been written in His book and that appointed time will come. For the vision is yet for an appointed time (Habakkuk 2:3). Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1, GW).

Trust in the Shelter of His Wings

For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah — Psalm 61:3-4 (NKJV) We have an open invitation from Abba Father to live in the safety of His sanctuary. The LORD is a tower of strength against the adversary. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge (Psalm 91:4). No matter what attacks may come, trust in the shelter of His wings.

Lead Me to the Rock!

Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. — Psalm 61:1-2 (NKJV) Lead me to the Rock! For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? (Psalm 18:31) “Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.” (Isaiah 44:8) Let us build our lives on the strong foundation of the LORD. Then we will be able to withstand the storms that come our way. The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted (Psalm 18:46).

Give us Help!

Image
Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies. — Psalm 60:11-12 (NKJV) The Message version says, “give us help for the hard task.” It is those difficult things we go through in life that knock us to our knees and cause us to cry out to God: “Please Help!” Let us praise God that with His help we gain the victory. Human help is limited but with our God we are empowered to do mighty things! Hallelujah!

Lean & Trust

Image
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. — Proverbs 3:5-7 (AMP) Trying to figure things out on your own and handle everything in your own power and strength, will wear you out. Instead, learn to lean on and trust in the Lord, in the midst of every situation. Always look to Him for wisdom and direction. And be confident! Don’t let the enemy get you to question and doubt our God, His ability or His Word. Our God is able and His Word stands forever. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Amen!

Well Able to Overcome!

Image
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” — Numbers 13:30 (NKJV) Caleb was ready to go up and take possession of the land God promised the Israelites, but the men who went up with him gave a bad report and said, they were not able to go up against the giants of the land. Are you like the 10 men who magnified the negative and gave a bad report or do you have the spirit of Caleb and Joshua that says, we are well able to overcome? Go up at once and take possession of your land of promise! You are well able to overcome!

Call, Pray & Cry

Image
As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. — Psalm 55:16-17 (NKJV) No matter what time we call out to the LORD, we can be confident that our voices will be heard. Our heavenly Father doesn’t sleep nor slumber and He never takes a vacation. The line to His throne room is always open. So cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). — Psalm 55:22 (AMP) Release the full weight of your burdens on the Lord. The Message Bible says: “Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders— he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.”

God-Worship

Image
Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice. — Psalm 51:16-17 (MSG) When we think our way is better than God's way, it is pride. Instead of following the behavior of this world or man-made traditions, let God transform you into a new person by taking your heart in His hands and molding it to be more like His. The sacrifice God desires is a broken and a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). We truly worship God when we humbly lay our hearts on His altar and follow His ways.

Cease Striving

Image
“ Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. ” — Psalm 46:10 (NAS) Cease striving and remember your Creator! Be still and acknowledge Him. “Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces,
 and there be none to deliver: Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;
And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” — Psalm 50:22-23 (NKJV)

A Very Present Help!

Image
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah — Psalm 46:1-3 (NKJV) The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah (Psalm 46:11) With God on our side, who can stand against us? Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57)!

Put Your Hope in God!

Image
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! — Psalm 42:11 (NLT) The Message Bible says, “ Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? ” When you get discouraged or distressed, make a decision to put your hope in God. Each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon us (Psalm 42:8, NLT). The LORD’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; (Lamentations 3:22-23, NAS). If you're down in the dumps, look up into the light. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness (Psalm 112:4, NKJV) Remember: The LORD is our light and our salvation! (Psalm 27:1)

The LORD be Magnified!

Image
But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you.
May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The LORD is great!” As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my God, do not delay. — Psalm 40:16-17 (NLT) In the presence of the LORD we are filled with joy and gladness. At His right hand there are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). How precious are His thoughts about us, O God. They cannot be numbered! We can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when we wake up, He is still with us! (Psalm 139:17-18, NLT) “The LORD be magnified!”

Merely a Breath!

Image
Lord, make me to know my end and [to appreciate] the measure of my days—what it is; let me know and realize how frail I am [how transient is my stay here]. Behold, You have made my days as [short as] handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in Your sight. Truly every man at his best is merely a breath!  Selah [pause, and think calmly of that]! — Psalm 39:4-5 (AMP) Our life on this earth is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone (James 4:14). May we appreciate each and every moment and make the most of every opportunity God gives us. He woke you up today, that means God has something more for you to do. Amen!

Peace, He Gave

Image
May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.  — Numbers 6:26 (NLT)  When the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, the LORD told Moses to speak a blessing over His children. In that blessing He gave them peace. In John 14:27 (NKJV), Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” From beginning to end, our Heavenly Father's desire has been for us to live in peace, peace of mind and heart. He gave us His peace. Don't let the thief steal your peace. Cast your cares on the LORD, for He CARES for you.

Practice Being Faithful!

Image
Trust the LORD, and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful. Be happy with the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  — Psalm 37:3-4 (GW) Faithfulness is a way of life. The more we practice using our faith muscle, the stronger it becomes. Hebrews 10:38 says, “now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” Instead of drawing back, consistently take steps of faith, always moving toward what God has called you to. Sometimes only a step is needed, at other times, it's more like a leap. However, when we TRUST in the LORD, we will take take that plunge into the unknown depths of our glorious, extraordinary future, and God will bring everything into clear focus, little by little. Amen!

Commit & Trust

Image
Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. — Psalm 37:5 (NKJV) Commit everything you do to the LORD. And make a decision to follow His ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). After you commit it to the LORD, trust Him to do what needs to be done to bring it to fruition in your life. He will ensure that you are equipped with everything you need at the appointed time and open doors that no man can shut. We can make our plans, but the LORD establishes our steps (Proverbs 16:9).

Pleasure in Our Prosperity

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” — Psalm 35:27 (NKJV) Our Heavenly Father has pleasure in the prosperity of His people. Prosperity is a all around state of well-being. It encompasses peace, good health, success in relationships, family and business, as well as wealth. John 10:10 says, Jesus came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly. He desires that we always have all sufficiency in all things, so we can have an abundance for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8). Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. — 3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

Are You a God-Seeker?

Image
Young lions on the prowl get hungry, but God-seekers are full of God. — Psalm 34:10 (MSG) Those who seek the LORD and His will, with all their heart, find Him and walk in His ways. They shall not lack any good thing. No matter how many troubles you face, the LORD comes to the rescue each time (Psalm 34:19, NLT). Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him (Psalm 34:8, MSG).

Do Your Part!

But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation. — 1 Corinthians 12:14-18 (AMP) God knows the gifts, talents and abilities He has given to each one of us. And He has arranged us so that we can function well together and fulfill His plan. Whatever tasks you perform in your workplace or business and wherever you fellowship at, be confident that you have been equipped to do what God has called you to do, in that place. You have an instrumental role to fulfill in your circle of influence, in your marriage, family and every other place God called you to. So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another].  — Romans 12:5 (AMP)   Let's value our differences and do our part!
