Hear Him
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” —Matthew 17:5 (NKJV)
There are many voices that go out into the world today. There is the voice of the medical professional with the bad report, but hear the Word, by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus is the great Physician. There is the voice of Scribes and Pharisees (religious people) who focus on rules and regulations instead of a personal relationship with the lord of Lord and the King of kings. There are the voices of the the news reporters, who speak gloom and doom, but in the Kingdom of God we have the Good News. May we have ears to hear Jesus, the Living Word. Jesus said: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV)
Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. (Luke 10:39) Jesus said, “Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42) Let us be like Mary.
