Blessed are Those who Endure
As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. —James 5:10-11 (NASB)
When it comes to suffering, let us remember Job and how God brought it all together for him at the end. Also, consider Jesus, …who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 NASB) Our Heavenly Father is faithful to fulfill every promise and He will cause everything to work together for good in our lives.
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen. —1 Peter 5:10-11 (NLT)
