Discouraged?

“Oh no, sir!” she replied. “I haven’t been drinking wine or anything stronger. But I am very discouraged, and I was pouring out my heart to the Lord. Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.”
1 Samuel 15-16 (NLT)

Hannah was discouraged because she was barren. In her time of anguish, Hannah went to the Lord and poured her heart out to Him. First Samuel 1:19-20 says, the Lord remembered her plea, and in due time she gave birth to a son. May we be like Hannah in times of discouragement and pour our hearts out to the Lord in prayer. As we patiently wait, God will answer.

Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy.
