A Sweet-Smelling Aroma

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Ephesians 5:1-2 (NKJ)

May we live a life of love just as Jesus Christ loved us and offered Himself up for us. Let us release our love as a sacrifice to others that they may enjoy it's sweet-smelling aroma. Oh how sweet the smell of a patient kind of love, that does not envy and is not self-seeking. How pleasant the fragrance of a love that is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs. Of faith, hope and love, love is the greatest. Love extravagantly.

Then, apply it to our daily lives by actually doing what it says. Great peace have those who love the law of the LORD, and nothing causes them to stumble. (See Psalms 119:165 NKJV) As pressure and stress bear down on you, find joy in His commands. (See Psalms 119:143 NLT) Psalms 78:8 (NKJV) says, its a stubborn and rebellious generation, that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you.
