Receive Him Joyfully

And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. —Luke 19:5-6 (NKJV)

Joyfully welcome Jesus into every area of your life. Don’t confine Him to your Sunday morning. Jesus is Immanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23). He will be with you in the fire and in the storm. When you fall into a pit, it will be His hand that reaches down and pulls you out. He will set your feet on solid ground (Psalm 40:2). He will turn your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Jesus alone is our hope. He is our joy and our peace. Jesus is the very source of our strength. In Him and because of Him, we have the victory! Receive Him with a joyful heart.

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Our joy is not to be based on the fluctuating circumstances of our lives. We experience fullness of joy in the Presence of Yahweh and He is always with us. No matter what season of life you are going through, have continual and contagious joy. Let your joy overflow and spill out onto those around you.
