Never Give Up
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! —2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (NLT)
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. (Romans 5:3 NLT) We can be glad that our troubles are temporary. Second Corinthians 4:17 (NASB) describes our afflictions as light and momentary. And they do not compare to the future glory we have in Christ. Jesus endured the cross by looking at the joy that was set before Him. (See Hebrews 12:2) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. (2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT)
For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised. —Hebrews 10:36 (AMP)
