Never Lose Hope
The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone. —Acts 27:20 (NLT)
The 275 people (See Acts 27:37) on the ship with the Apostle Paul abandoned all hope in the midst of a raging storm. However, an angel of God came to the Apostle Paul, and said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ (See Acts 27:24) In turn, Paul was able to encourage those on the ship with him. In Acts 27:25, he said: “So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.” Even though the ship was destroyed, they all were brought safely to land. (See Acts 27:44)
You may suffer loss, but never lose hope. In the midst of the storms, always believe the Word of God. God is good and His Word does not return to Him void. Let us be the voice of encouragement to those around us who are without hope. Amen.
