Peace Be With You
Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” —John 20:19 (NKJV)
Jesus has given us His peace. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. Instead, let His perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge. (See John 14:27 AMP) In John 16:33 (NASB1995), Jesus said: “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
We can have constant peace, because Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isiah 9:6), has promised to be with us always, to the very end of the age. (See Matthew 28:20) And despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. (See Romans 8:37 NLT) Now may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. (SeePhilippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
“The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” —Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJV)
