No Excuses
Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ But they all began making excuses…” —Luke 15:16-18 (NLT)
“The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ (Luke 14:21) In Luke 14:23 (NASB1995), the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled. Where ever you are today, Jesus calls you to “Come.” You are invited.
In Revelation 3:20 (NASB1995), Jesus said: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” He is knocking on the door of your heart. Come to Him daily and take time to fellowship with Him. Let us not make any excuses. Never allow the enemy to use your business, career, relationships with others or anything else to keep you from Jesus. He loved us and delivered Himself up for us. (See Galatians 2:20)
