Choose the Good Part

But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.”Luke 10:41-42 (AMP)

Instead of being worried and bothered about doing so many things, we can choose to be quiet and still before our loving Lord and Savior. When our primary focus is on the King of kings and the Lord of lords, He will lead us and guide us in the way we should go, and the words we are to speak. As we keep our eyes on Immanuel (“God with us”), we will become more like Him.

We will choose to love and have compassion for others, the way our Redeemer loves us. He loved us so much He gave His life to save us. When you choose the good part, it will be easier to see the good part in those around you. Decide to speak words of life and blessing over others, instead of cursing words full of negativity and criticism. Choose the path of peace and unity, instead of strife and division. Instead of mumbling and complaining, praise and give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus the Christ. When we choose the good part, everyone benefits.
