He Provides

When they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore it was named Marah. So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” Then he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. Exodus 15:23-25a (NASB1995)

Yahweh always provides for His people. In Exodus 14:21-30, the LORD saved Israel from the hand of their enemies by letting them walk through the midst of the sea, on dry land. However, He overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea; not even one of them remained. He rained down manna upon them to eat and gave them food from heaven, for forty years. (See Exodus 16:35 & Psalm 78:24) The LORD commanded the ravens to bring the prophet, Elijah, food. So Elijah did as the LORD told him and camped beside Kerith Brook. The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook. (See 1 Kings 17:2-6)

His provision may not come the way we think it should, but Yahweh is faithful to provide whatever we need. We don’t know “how” or “when,” but we know “Who.” Know that there is no one like the LORD our God, faithful and true. Amen.
