The LORD is with me, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD tan to trust in princes. Psalm 118:6, 8-9 (NIV) The LORD is our shelter from the storm. Retreat into the safe haven of the LORD instead of putting your trust in man. You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) As we trust in God, He will keep us in perfect peace. Believe that He is able and willing to deliver you out of all your troubles. Fix your thoughts on the LORD and not on your circumstances and your soul will have deep, abiding peace.  Love, Jackie

Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath. Psalm 39:4-5 (NIV) Remember how fleeting our lives are and make each day count. Don't take one moment for granted. Let us live our days in light of what we want people to remember about us after we are gone. Share the love of God with everyone who comes your way, being kind and compassionate. People will always cherish how you made them feel. Let your life be a love letter to the world etched on the hearts of those who know you. Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you,  and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14 (NIV) We need wisdom to stay connected to our future hope. Doing things that we know are not right may cut our hope short. Our hope in the Lord is to be strong and steadfast, as an anchor for the soul. To keep your hope for the future alive, obtain wisdom. Love, Jackie

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 23:17-18 (NIV) Those who keep their hope in the LORD will not be disappointed. Dare to hope for abundant joy, everlasting peace, unfailing love, physical healing, healthy relationships, obedient children, and saved family members and friends. There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. Proverbs 21:30 (NIV) If we desire lasting success in life, we must follow the LORD and walk according to His will. Jesus prayed to our heavenly Father, "Your will be done," (Matthew 6:10). The LORD has wonderful plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a glorious future (Jeremiah 29:11). His plans for us are greater than we can ask or imagine. The name of the LORD is a strong tower;  the righteous run to it and are safe.  Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)    Whatever obstacles stand before you, call on the mighty name of the LORD. There is wonder-working power in His name to withstand every challenge you face. He is a strong tower and a safe refuge. When we run to Him we are safe. There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace. Proverbs 12:20 (NIV) We are to make every effort to live in peace with all men (Hebrews 12:14). When we are promoters of peace, our hearts are joyful. And the heart at peace gives life to the body (Proverbs 14:30). Jesus is the Prince of Peace. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a  place of abundance. Psalm 66:12 (NIV) When you go through the fiery furnace you will not be burned and God will not let the troubled waters overtake you. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. Proverbs 8:35 (NIV) Those who find wisdom find life and receive the LORD's favor: honor, health, prolonged life, enduring wealth and prosperity. Proverbs 10:22, says the blessing of the LORD brings wealth and He adds no trouble to it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Proverbs 3:13-15 (NIV) The men and women who find wisdom are blessed with long life, riches and honor. Proverbs 3:17 says, "the way of wisdom is pleasant and her paths are full of peace." In order to find wisdom we have to look for it. I have learned that understanding is gained once wisdom or knowledge is applied to specific situations in our lives or to ourselves. For example, I didn't understand love when I read First Corinthians Chapter 13. I gained an understanding of love when I went out of my way to show love to someone I didn't necessarily want to love. Let us seek wisdom until we find it, then gain understanding and we will be blessed with a long, pleasant and peaceful life. Amen. Love, Jackie

You go before me and follow me.  You place your hand of blessing on my head. Psalm 139:5 (NLT) The LORD goes before you and makes a way. He is your rear guard. The LORD's hand of blessing is on your head. He opens His hand and satisfies the desires of every living thing (Psalm 145:16). His hand delivers you from trouble. His right hand sustains you. The hand of the LORD abundantly supplies every kind of provision. In His hand, there are eternal pleasures. Hold onto the mighty hand of God at all times and praise Him. Love, Jackie

I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of the maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy. Psalm 123:1-2 (NIV) Look to the LORD who daily bears your burdens. He will show you His mercy and grace. He releases a constant flow of unconditional love and compassion. The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, He saved me. Psalm 116:5-6 (NIV) Are you in great need? Our great God meets every need, whether physical, mental, emotional, relational or spiritual.  If it is emptiness, He will fill it with His powerful presence. If it is sickness, He brings healing. Are you sad and sorrowful? In His presence there is joy evermore. In times of depression, He is the lifter of your head. Our God is full of grace and compassion. He saves those who are perishing, and gives them the wonderful gift of eternal life. Love, Jackie

He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:29-30 (NIV) When violent storms rage around you, call on the LORD. If you are being tossed to and fro by the waves of life and the winds of adversity threaten to overtake you, the LORD will set you on stable ground. He will guide you to your desired haven. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10 (NIV) We cannot hide from the presence of Almighty God. He is not far from each one of us. It is in Him that we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:27-28). He sets the times for us to live and determines the exact places.  He is familiar with all our ways. Let us surrender our will to the guidance of the LORD, it is meant for our good, not harm. When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. Psalm 94:18-19 (NIV) An anxious heart weighs a man down (Proverbs 12:25). Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, cast all your anxiety on the LORD, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) The great love of God, keeps us from being consumed. Instead of allowing our destruction, God faithfully gives us new compassions every morning. The minute we wake up, we have a fresh dose of compassions from the LORD. They do not grow stale and they never fail. His compassions are like a healing balm, that soothes the soul. You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Psalm 77:14-15 (NIV ) God redeems His people with His mighty arm.  When we come to the end of our human strength, He picks us up and carries us. He holds us close to His heart. In His mighty arms, we find comfort and peace. The powerful arm of God protects those who call on Him. Draw near to our awesome God and He will draw near to you. Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. Psalm 71: 20-21 (NIV) You may be going through many bitter troubles but restoration is on the horizon. Our hardships are temporary, but we always have the loving arms of God to bring comfort and renewal. Weeping may last for the night but the sweet taste of joy comes in the morning. Hallelujah! God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or  withheld his love from me! Psalm 66:19-20 (NIV) Praise God! He does not withhold His love. He constantly showers us with His love. The flow, never stops. There is no drought when it comes to the unfailing love of God. In love, He knit each person together in their mother's womb. In love, He gave us a purpose and a plan for our lives, to prosper us and give us hope. In love, His only Son died on the cross that we might spend eternity with God. You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob. You give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. Psalm 44:4, 7-8 (NIV) Our King has declared victory for His people and He has all power and authority to lead you to success. He has given us victory over the forces of darkness and over our sinful flesh. With our God we overcome obstacles and triumph over tragedy. Praise His name forever. Love, Jackie

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7 (NIV) When we have done all we can do in any given situation, it is time to be still and wait patiently on the LORD. God says, "do not fret, be afraid or worry." Be anxious for nothing. We are not to whine, complain or grumble. Be still and rest in the goodness of the LORD. He is faithful, trust Him to work everything out in His perfect timing. Love, Jackie

How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. Psalm 36:7-9 (NLT) Like an eagle, God hovers over His young, and we are all young in comparison to an eternal God. He spreads his wings to catch us and carries us on His pinions (Deuteronomy 32:11). Take refuge in the shadow of His wings and God will be your protective covering. Under His wings, God lovingly provides an abundance of food, drink and other delights. In His shadow, we can soar on wings like eagles and never grow weary (Isaiah 40:31). Love, Jackie

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19 (NIV) You may have many troubles, but keep your eyes on the LORD and He will deliver you from them all. The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:10-11 (NIV) The LORD has blessed us with peace. Peace is like a gift, it has been given to us, but we must receive it and unwrap it. As we grow in our knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ our Lord, 1 Peter 1:2 says, peace will be ours in abundance. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. Psalm 18:35 (NIV) God gives us His shield of victory. Ephesians 6:16 says we are to take up the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. The devil wants to take us out but we can stop everything he brings against us with God's shield of victory. Our faith is our defense. Through faith we are shielded by God's power (1 Peter 1:5). When we believe God, we take refuge in Him and He becomes our impenetrable shield (2 Samuel 22:31). Praise God! Love, Jackie

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:9-10 (NIV) The LORD is a place safety and protection. Put your trust in Him, and not in human knowledge or strength. Our God is mighty and He is able. A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 (NIV) Let us thank God for all His hand provides for us. His hand gives us shelter and puts food on our tables. He gives us strength to perform the work of our hands.
