Above All
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. —Colossians 3:14 (NLT)
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. (Colossians 3:12-13 NLT) However, love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity. (See Colossians 3:14 TPT)
Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. (1 Corinthians 13:4 TPT) And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13 AMP)
...let love be the beautiful prize for which you run. —1 Corinthians 13:13 (TPT)
