Peace, Be Still!
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. —Mark 4:39 (NKJV)
Jesus is the Prince of Peace (See Isaiah 9:6) and His peace is to rule in our hearts and minds. In John 14:27 (NLT), Jesus said: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” When Jesus spoke to the storm in Mark 4:39, all at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm. Jesus said His disciples would do even greater things than He. We are to speak to the storms of our lives, and bring about a great calm. Don’t let the enemy steal your peace.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 (NKJV)
