Don't be Surprised

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12 (AMP)

Jesus told His disciples that in this world we would have tribulation, distress and suffering. However, He says to be courageous and filled with joy. In Him, we may have perfect peace because He has overcome the world. (See John 16:33 AMP) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37 AMP)

May we consider our difficulties, troubles and trials as an opportunity to trust God. For we walk by faith, not by sight. (See 2 Corinthians 5:7) Let us lift up the shield of faith with which we will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (See Ephesians 6:16) Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all. (Psalm 34:19 AMP) Amen.
