He Hears
Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. —Daniel 10:12 (NLT)
May we humble ourselves before Yahweh in prayer, and know that His ears are open to the cry of His people. In Matthew 26:41 (AMP), Jesus instructed His disciples: “Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” James 5:16 (AMP) says: confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. Always pray and do not lose heart. (See Luke 18:1) Before calling on God in prayer, we first need to humble ourselves, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 points out.
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT)
