Keep Running
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. —Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)
God wrote all our days down in His book before we drew our first breath. He has set before each person a race. Let us submit to His will and His ways. When we follow Him, we have perfect peace and we can be confident that He will take care of everything that concerns us. Don’t be like Jonah. After God told Him to go to Nineveh, He went in the opposite direction to get away from the LORD. (See Jonah 1:1-3)
Don't attempt to create your own course. Proverbs 19:21 (NLT) says: You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail. God has gone before you and made a way. Seek Him and His will for your day. For He knows the plans He has for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (See Jeremiah 29:11 NLT) So, keep running your race, with your eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (See Hebrews 12:2)
