Trust in God
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. —1 Timothy 6:17 (NLT)
Do not be like those in the church of Laodiciea (the lukewarm church). Because they say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” In Revelation 3:17 (NASB1995), He says to them: you do not know that you are wretched and miserable, poor, blind and naked. So don’t fix your hope on the uncertainty of worldly riches. Instead, set your hope on the living God, our true Source. Trust in the One Who richly and ceaselessly supplies us with all we need for our enjoyment. Do good, be rich in good works, be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for yourself as a good foundation for the future, so that you may take hold of that which is truly life. (See 1 Timothy 6:18-19 ESV)
