It's His Glory
The people kept crying out, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of the Lord continued to grow and to be multiplied. —Acts 12:22-24 (NASB1995)
God struck Herod down because he did not give God the glory. All glory, honor and praise belong to our great God, Creator of heaven and earth. He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; (See Acts 17:25-27) The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. (Psalm 19:1-2 NASB1995)
Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the Lord [as their most essential need] rejoice. —Psalm 105:3 (AMP)
