Why He Came
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. —John 1:14 (NLT)
Jesus came to do the will of the Father. (See Hebrews 10:7) He came to preach the kingdom of God. (See Luke 4:43) In Luke 5:32, He says: “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10 NASB1995). It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners… (See 1 Timothy 1:15 NASB1995)
In John 18:37, Jesus said to Pilate, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. (John 3:17 NASB1995) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. (See John 10:10 AMP) Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is Savior of all who come to Him. May we hear His voice today and follow Him.
