Receive Him Gladly
When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly. —Luke 19:6 (NASB1995)
Zaccheus ran on ahead of the crowd and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Jesus, for He was about to pass through that way. (See Luke 19:4) When Jesus invited Himself to stay at Zaccheus’ house, He received Him gladly. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” May we gladly receive Him into our hearts and into every area of our lives, each and every day.
…let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly. —Psalm 68:3 (NKJV)
