For The Light
“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.” —Exodus 27:20 (NKJV)
Olive oil is made by a strenuous and tedious process of pressing olives. The Israelites needed olive oil for the morning and evening offerings, so it was an ongoing requirement that took diligence and dedication. In a similar fashion, as difficulties and troubles press us, let us commit to continually make the right choices and allow the impurities to be squeezed out of us. When we choose life and godliness, we allow God’s light to shine brighter and brighter through us. Be a vessel of His light.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; (2 Corinthians 4:8 NIV)
