A Very Present Help

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. —Psalms 46:1-3 (NASB1995)

When we are in the midst of troubles, trials and temptations, Yahweh is with us. He never abandons us. Not only is He our constant Companion, He is always ready to help in times of trouble. He is also our strength, to bring us through. “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” (Psalms 34:5 NLT) The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. (Psalms 34:15-17 NKJV)

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalms 34:18-19 (NKJV)
